On Gear Live: 2024 Nissan Z Nismo Review

How I Met Your Mother

(You can view TV Envy’s Post-Strike Television Schedule here.)

MONDAY (3/17)
  • Dancing with the Stars (ABC, 8pm):  Tonight’s Season 6 premiere focuses only on the men.  I think it’s safe to say Julianne Hough won’t be making it a three-peat with .
  • The Big Bang Theory (CBS, 8pm):  New episode.  “Sheldon and Leonard are asked to a physics conference to present their work together.”  I’ve always wondered - if this show were to air on any other day, would it be half as successful?
  • How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8:30):  New episode.  “Ted decides to live life like Barney on St. Patrick’s Day.”  You don’t want to know what they use as their lucky charms.
  • Two and a Half Men (CBS, 9pm):  New episode.  “Charlie teaches Alan how to break up with a woman.”  I hear hiring prostitutes can make a woman leave you.
  • The Bachelor (ABC, 9:30):  Season 12 premiere.  “Bachelor Matt Grant, a 27-year-old British financier, meets his 25 would-be soul mates.”  Apparently in America, you can finally afford to woo twice as many women as you can in the UK.

Men in Trees

(You can find our Post-Strike Television Schedule here.)

MONDAY (2/25)
  • A Raisin in the Sun (ABC, 8pm):  and the rest of his Broadway cast bring the play to the small screen.  I’m sorry - I believe his theater name is Sean Combs.
  • The Moment of Truth (FOX, 8pm):  Special night.  Apparently this episode is so controversial, the producers debated airing it.  Then they realized what network they were on and just went with it.
  • Welcome to the Captain (CBS, 8:30):  “Hope makes some new friends so she won’t be alone on Friday nights.” Their names?  Jack and Daniels.
  • Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious (CW, 9pm):  “The women receive a surprise visit from JC Chasez.”  They, too, are wondering why he doesn’t have anything better to do.

Nip/TuckLet me start off by saying that plausibility has never been ‘s strong suit.  If it was, the series wouldn’t be so deliciously bad.  But after watching last night’s episode, I seriously had to say: “C’mon!”

I really loved the show’s move to Los Angeles and talked about the reinvigorated program a few months ago.  Unfortunately, Tuesday’s closer was way too over the top for me….and now I’m afraid I have to admit I hated it.

Sean McNamara and Christian Troy have taken us through a lot of strange storylines, so when things got ugly with pseudo-agent Colleen Rose this season, I grimaced but went along with it.  (As disgusting as the murder of the real agent was, I had to admit that ‘stuffing’ him was at least creative.)  Really, things weren’t that much different this year than when The Carver was still around.

But seriously….how could one family have so many problems?  And at the same time?

America's Next Top Model

MONDAY (2/18)
  • Prison Break (FOX, 8pm):  Tonight may be the end of the show as we currently know it.  Maybe Michael can finally let go of that steely gaze now.
  • Dance War (ABC, 8pm):  The next contenders will be announced during the spinoff’s season finale.  Finally, a reason for me to watch.
  • Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious (CW, 9pm):  Robin Antin is searching for a gal to complete an entirely different musical act.  With Danity Kane already taken, she had to settle for the 2nd crappiest group name available.
  • My Dad is Better Than Your Dad (NBC, 9pm):  “This competition series features fathers and their children in challenges that test the patriarch’s strength, intelligence and parenting skills.”  Since when did NBC start stealing ideas from ?

BTVS Reunion

It has been nearly five years since that fateful May night when BTVS fans witnessed the end of their beloved TV series. The following years, fans have intently watched as their favorite characters have branched off to new projects, leaving little hope of a BTVS movie, which so many “Buffy” lovers have longed and hoped for. Unfortunately, there are still no concrete plans of a movie, but fans have the Paley Center for Media (formerly the Museum of Television and Radio) to be eternally grateful to—they have announced a reunion on Thursday, March 20th at the historic Cinerama Dome in Hollywood, CA!

Flavor of Love

(You can view the whole Revamped TV Programming Schedule here.)

MONDAY (2/11)
  • Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (FOX, 8pm):  “Sarah meets a stranger () who shares a similar past.”  They were once both white rappers?
  • Dance War (ABC, 8pm):  “The touring company of ‘High School Musical’ performs.”  The contestants, now left with inferiority complexes, are unable to go on.
  • Flavor of Love (VH1, 9pm):  Third season premiere.  Is it a coincidence that a Flav-ex has since show up on ?
  • Prison Break (FOX, 8pm):  “The escape attempt is successful for some, if not all, of the escapees.”  Apparently you can miss weeks of this show and not miss a thing.

American Idol

(You can view the whole Revamped TV Programming Schedule here.)

MONDAY (1/14)
  • Prison Break (FOX, 8pm):  Season resumes.  “Michael suffers the consequences of solitary confinement, Sona-style.”  I hate to think we left him in there these past few months.
  • Kyle XY (ABC Family, 8pm):  Second season resumes.  “Kyle returns to the Tragers to tell them truth about his existence.”  Maybe should consider stealing this show to fill their schedule.  Otherwise, I’ll never get around to watching it.
  • Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (FOX, 9pm):  Regular day and time.  “John grows restless and sneaks out of the house to track down Charley Dixon.”  Maybe they should have recast .  He would have filled this punk role perfectly.
  • CSI: Miami (CBS, 10pm):  Actress guest-stars as Horatio’s ex and Kyle’s mother.  Wouldn’t it have made more sense if she was on the regular ?  Then they could have linked it back to her years.
