American Idol Contestant Sues Show for $300 Million

Rejected American Idol contestant Ian Benardo doesn’t have a prayer of getting $300 million from the show, though he recently filed a lawsuit asking for this staggering sum. We’re pretty sure Benardo has filed suit more for publicity than for money…so we’re going to give it to him.
If you don’t know who Ian Benardo is, it’s probably because you didn’t watch the American Idol finale spectacular which aired in May. Benardo turned an otherwise average stage show into a circus when he ripped the microphone out of the hands of comedian Dane Cook and proceeded to scream out his agenda to the masses.

President Obama to Appear on The View

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Daytime, Talk Shows, ABC, Syndication,

This Thursday’s broadcast of The View will mark two significant returns: the return of President Barack Obama and the (brief) return of Barbara Walters.
Although Obama has chatted with the ladies before, he hasn’t visited the program since March 2008 - when he was just a U.S. senator. Meanwhile, Walters - who is still taking time off to recover from her heart surgery - will make a special appearance for the event.
The hour is not only a coup for the The View, but for daytime television overall. This is the first time a sitting president has guested on a daytime talk show.

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, Lost, Gossip,

“Even if you planned everything [in advance] you’d do yourself a disservice. You couldn’t anticipate Michael Emerson coming on board. I know there’s a lot of people who have dissenting opinions; I think [producers] Damon [Lindelof] and Carlton [Cuse] kicked incredible ass and came up with a finale that ended it well.”
-Lost co-creator and co-executive producer J.J. Abrams - who hasn’t been directly involved with the program in years - discussing his opinion of the show’s ending with with Comic-Con attendees.

Preview Tiffany Battling Debbie Gibson in Syfy Movie

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Sci-Fi/Horror, Cable, Gossip, Video,
The one thing that differentiates this Syfy channel video from something you might see on Cinemax? The movie title planted on the bottom of the clip.
Yes - Debbie Gibson supposedly plays a “fanatical animal rights advocate” in Mega Python vs. Gatoroid. And yes - Tiffany was cast an “over-zealous park ranger.” But drawn-out catfights and ridiculous animal attacks - not realism - are what we watch Syfy movies for.
Sadly, this preview doesn’t include any blood or gore - but it does feature claws and cake. Enjoy.
Mega Python vs. Gatoroid will debut sometime in 2011.

- James May’s Toy Stories (BBC, 10pm): “The host tries to build a record-breaking model-train track that’s 10 miles long and links two towns.” It’s a train even Ricky Stratton and his father would be envious of.

First Look: Jessica Simpson on Entourage

(Warning: NSFW language ahead.)
I never thought I would find myself saying this, but Jessica Simpson does a lot better in this Entourage cameo than I ever imagined she would.
Granted, I expected very little. And really - how hard could it possibly be to call Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) an “a**hole”?
