Today her face graces magazine covers and the entertainment media is holding its breath to see the star re-emerge in her most famous role. After fading to the background of relative obscurity for the last decade, is suddenly very prominently in the spotlight.

“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel it,” said Doherty, 37, of her newfound popularity with the press. “It definitely feels good. It also feels scary.” When asked about this scary success, Doherty explained, “who wants to talk about stuff they did fifteen years ago?”

  • Gossip Girl (CW, 8pm):  Season 2 premiere. “Summer in the Hamptons winds down as Serena and Nate carry on a cover-up scheme to make others think they’re dating.” A few choice pics sent to Gossip Girl should do the trick.
  • Prison Break (FOX, 8pm):  Season 4 premiere. “Michael is in LA looking to even the score with Gretchen for Sara’s death.” I think Gretchen should really apologize for all of last season.
  • One Tree Hill (CW, 9pm):  Season 6 premiere. “Lucas’ chosen lady meets him at the airport, while Dan’s accident proves life-threatening.” Sorry. So not caring who picks these days.
  • Raising the Bar (TNT, 10pm):  Series premiere. “Idealistic public defender Jerry Kellerman (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) fights for a man he’s sure is innocent, but holding a court is a judge who loathes Kellerman.” Gosselaar’s new hair has been generating some passionate opinions.

Shannen Doherty

The CW has unveiled yet another new promo for their upcoming spinoff 90210 - and this TV spot gives us exactly what we want. And what do we want? !

It’s only 10 seconds long and Doherty only says two words - but it’s enough to whet the appetite for much more. Shannen-as-Brenda-Walsh offers up a coquettish grin as the voice-over intones “…an icon returns.” You’re right about that.

See the First Clips of Shannen Doherty on 90210

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Video,

If you’ve been wondering how the old vets would mesh with the current students of West Beverly, here’s your chance to make a snap judgment.

My first thoughts? ‘s face looks puffy, AnnaLynne McCord is as disgustingly beautiful as she was on Nip/Tuck and Shenae Grimes looks like she’s still at Degrassi.

In other words: This is Must See TV.

90210 starts its school year on September 2nd.

Tori Spelling Drops Out of 90210

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Reality, Cable, The CW, News, Ratings,

Tori Spelling may be willing to run her own Bed & Breakfast. She might even be willing to sell her own gourmet fries. But she apparently won’t do anything for money.

Although she was signed on to star in CW’s version of 90210, a paycheck dispute has forced the Tori & Dean star to drop out completely. This revelation comes after Spelling said she would be temporarily sitting on the bench to recover from her second pregnancy.

Earlier today, Deadline Hollywood Daily claimed the actress was actually holding out because of less than equal treatment. When Tori learned that her $10,000-$20,000 per episode number fell far below what Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty were being offered (reportedly between $35,000-$50,000 per episode), she walked away.

Now the 35-year-old’s rep has confirmed to Us Magazine that Donna Martin won’t be seen anytime soon. “At this time, there are no plans for Tori to appear in the spinoff.”

I guess the record ratings Tori & Dean have been bringing to Oxygen aren’t really needed on the CW?

It’s Official: Shannen Doherty Joins 90210

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, News,

Shannen DohertyNow that we’ve had a few weeks to get used to the idea, it’s time for us to fully accept it. Brenda Walsh is coming back.

Just this weekend, CW confirmed that Shannen Doherty is returning to the zip she was once famously booted out of. In the announcement, we learned that Doherty will come back to West Beverly after she is asked to guest direct a school play.

Those who recall her stint in ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’ may be surprised to learn that Brenda’s character has since become a “successful theater actress, splitting her time between London and New York.” So successful, in fact, that she has already moved on to directing her own productions. (Hence, the invite from her alma mater.)

90210 News: The Peach Pit Takes Shape

Peach Pit OldPeach Pit New

The producers of CW’s 90210 have already proven that they like to incorporate something old with their something new…and that same philosophy applies to the series’ haunts.

Next fall, West Beverly High won’t be the only location followers of the show will be familiar with. The Peach Pit will also be making a return, albeit with a whole new look.

The show recently took over an already existing joint (Kokomo Cafe) for some filming last week. Although the exteriors will be of the Los Angeles restaurant, interior shots from this point on will reportedly be of a soundstage. Viewers will get a new attached nightclub to boot. (Will this mean more musical appearances from random one-hit wonders? Probably.)
