Wednesday Ratings: FOX Outdanced by CBS

The two-hour season finale of So You Think You Can Dance couldn’t compete with CBS’ strong Wednesday lineup. The dance program did, though, outperform NBC’s own reality program.

- The New Adventures of Old Christine (7.8 million, 2.4/7) was up 300,000.
- Approximately 7 million saw Russell Ferguson win So You Think You Can Dance (2.6/7).
- Prep & Landing* (2.0/6) brought another 6.7 million to ABC.
- The Sing-Off (6.6 million, 2.2/6) was off 300,000 from Tuesday.

Tuesday Ratings: CBS Better Off Than Everyone Else

A good Day 2 showing for The Sing-Off and a finale for So You Think You Can Dance couldn’t keep CBS from overpowering the competition. The NCIS combo did its thing and gave the network wins in both the viewers and the demos.
8pm
- NCIS (20.6 million, 4.3/13 in 18-49) kicked off the night with 20.6 million.
- The Sing-Off (6.9 million, 2.6/7) actually saw improvement in the demos since Monday.
- A repeat airing of A Charlie Brown Christmas* (2.3/7) entertained 6.6 million.
- So You Think You Can Dance (6.3 million, 2.3/7) did the same as last week.
- The Vampire Diaries* (0.6/2) recapped 1.3 million.

Sunday Ratings: Eagles Sack the President

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Animation, Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Specials, Sports, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, Family Guy, Ratings,
As nice as Christmas must be in the White House, the action is clearly on the gridiron. Despite cheerful numbers for Oprah’s primetime special, the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants was easily the night’s top contender.
8pm
- Approximately 17.9 million saw the Eagles beat the Giants on Sunday Night Football (7.0/17 in 18-49).
- Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (3.1/8) averaged 10.1 million over two hours.
- The Mentalist* (1.9/5) pulled in 9.5 million for CBS.
- The Simpsons (3.2/8) nabbed 7.1 million.
- The Cleveland Show (3.0/7) turned in 6.5 million.

Friday Ratings: Big Bump for Betty

Okay, so CBS was in repeats—but I think we’d all accept gifts when we can. A lack of competition helped Friday’s broadcast of Ugly Betty reach its best numbers of the season. Thankfully, the program will be given a new opportunity when it starts airing on Wednesdays in January.
8pm
- Law & Order (8.8 million, 1.7/6) had a long-awaited win in its hour.
- Yes, Virginia (1.3/5) entertained 5.3 million.
- Supernanny (1.3/5) scolded 4.6 million.
- The Big Bang Theory* (1.4/5) contributed 4.6 million to the evening.
- The first hour of Dollhouse (1.0/3) raised 2.7 million.
- Smallville* (0.5/1) averaged 1.4 million over two hours.

Note to Barbara Walters: Maybe you shouldn’t reveal your fascinating list before the show actually airs? Despite drawing over 10 million last night for the annual special, ABC - along with FOX - lost out to CBS in both the viewers and the demos.

- The New Adventures of Old Christine (7.5 million, 2.2/7) had its best audience of the season.
