On Gear Live: Samsung S95C: The OLED TV You Can’t Afford (to Ignore!)

Tuesday night’s “Grilled Cheesus” episode of delivered up the usual laughs, gave us plenty of new Sue Sylvester quotations to bat around and filled millions of households with beautiful singing—but the show went a little deeper than its usual quips, jokes and jaw-dropping solos.

“Grilled Cheesus” tackled some truly heady subject matter: life, death and spirituality. It’s a lot to take in on a Tuesday.

In-between funny one-liners from Heather Morris as Brittany S. Pearce (“I got dropped one whole letter grade because I wrote it in crayon”) and lots of amusement at poor Finn’s expense, Glee explored different world religions - albeit shallowly. But what do you expect from an hour-long show that’s peppered with no less than seven different musical numbers? Keep reading to get the full recap - but only if you’ve seen the episode already!

Although it’s been days since Rick Sanchez made unflattering remarks about Jon Stewart (and his own CNN bosses), we had to wait until Monday night to hear Stewart’s response to the controversy.

Despite being called a “bigot,” host feigned excitement about being mentioned by the (former) CNN anchor. “Rick Sanchez knows my name!” he squealed.

Stewart even gave props to Rick—who claimed Jon “grew up in a suburban, middle-class New Jersey home with everything that you could every imagine”—for really nailing “what is was like growing up in Central Jersey in the early seventies. The fortunate son of a single mother in the education field.”

It’s official: Google is in charge of the modern world. The Internet giant recently signed a deal which brings together HBO, Netflix, Pandora and the NBA under a new banner: Google TV.

It’s all part of Google’s multimillion-channel TV system, which will launch in the fall. The system runs on Google’s Android OS, making it possible for Web viewers to watch content on their television sets. And next fall, Google’s going to present Google Mind, which allows users to plug their brains directly into their computer systems. (We’re just kidding about that last bit … or, are we?)

NBC Universal, Time Warner and Twitter will also be involved, offering apps which will allow users to access content from their TVs. alone plans to offer 600-plus hours of programming (which just about covers the first two seasons of The Sopranos), and the NBA has created an app which will keep viewers updated on games and scores in real time. Google is hinting that even more news will unfold in the next few weeks.

New cast members Vanessa Bayer and Paul Brittain managed to get themselves noticed during last weekend’s broadcast.

In a skit featuring host-for-the-week Bryan Cranston, Bayer offered up “The Miley Cyrus Show,” which starred the teenager as an over-enthusiastic talk show host. To be called an Iron Chef is to be a celebrated, world-class chef whose cuisine often reigns supreme - and it’s an honor many professional chefs would love to add to their credentials. Thanks to the magic of reality TV, one chef will soon claim the title as their own - but nine of the current contestants have got real reason to think they just aren’t up to par.

Ming Tsai, well-known as a television personality for his Emmy-winning East Meets West cooking show, is already a pro chef of the highest caliber … and he’s already taking The Next Iron Chef competition by storm.
