Thursday Ratings: NBC’s Comedy Lineup Finishes Third

Despite a night of NBC originals, the network found itself in the middle of the pack.  A special Thursday episode of American Idol helped FOX win the demos while CBS was first with the viewers.

  • About 19.6 million were shocked to see Michael Johns booted from (6.8/19 in 18-49).
  • (11.7 million, 3.8/11) suffered a bit thanks to that other reality show.
  • (3.0/9) kicked off NBC’s night with 7 million; (5.7 million, 2.7/7) fell a bit from there.
  • A * repeat (1.1/3) had 4.3 million excited for a new episode.
  • * (2.3 million, 0.8/2) was on track with last week.

The introduction of American Idol’s results show changed up the Thursday landscape.  added another night to its win column.

Supernatural

  • (8.4/21 in 18-49) topped the evening with 23.2 million.
  • (12.5 million, 4.0/10) saw 600,000 viewers eliminated.
  • * (1.7/4) kicked off ABC’s evening with 5.5 million.
  • * (4.5 million, 1.7/4) provided a little comedy to the hour.
  • * (1.0/3) brought 2.6 million to Smallville’s usual slot.
