- Approximately 14.5 million baseball fans watched the first 9 innings of FOX‘s MLB All-Star Game (4.5/13 in 18-49).
- Wipeout (8.5 million, 3.1/10) had a 2.1 million dive.
- Celebrity Family Feud (7.9 million, 2.0/7) gathered another 400,000.
- NCIS* (7.8 million, 1.3/4) plummeted by 800,000.
- Beauty and the Geek* (1 million, 0.5/2) drew in 260,000 more.

- Wipeout (10.6 million, 4.0/13 in 18-49) brought 1.2 million more to the table.
- NCIS* (8.6 million, 1.5/5) picked up another 600,000.
- Celebrity Family Feud (7.5 million, 2.1/7) had 500,000 more arguing.
- The Moment of Truth (2.0/6) closed its season with 5 million.
- Beauty and the Geek* (740,000, 0.3/1) was down 110,000.

American Gladiators’ ratings slide didn’t stop another reality competition from making a splashy debut yesterday. Last night, Wipeout had the best debut for any freshman summer series since last year. The show gave the ABC a win in the demos while NBC had a hold on the viewers.

- Celebrity Family Feud (2.3/8) premiered to 8.8 million.
- NCIS* (7.7 million. 1.2/4) fell in the middle of the pack.
- A repeat of Hell’s Kitchen* (1.3/4) pulled in 3.3 million.
- Beauty and the Geek* (1.2 million, 0.5/2) repeated last week’s numbers.

Despite the disappointments delivered by reality fare this summer (and the presence of basketball game last night), NBC managed to have a great evening with the debut of America’s Got Talent. The show helped the Peacock Network nab a win in the viewers while ABC had a hold on the demos.

- Deal or No Deal (2.1/7 in 18-49) kicked off NBC’s night with 8.7 million.
- Jimmy Kimmel (2.6/9) warmed up 7.6 million basketball fans; the NBA pre-game show (3.3/10) drew in 8.5 million.
- The Moment of Truth (5.8 million, 2.4/8) was down 200,000.
- AFI’s 10 Top 10 (1.3/4) had 5.5 million movie lovers reminiscing.
- Beauty and the Geek* (0.5/2) trailed behind with 1.2 million.

Last night’s Battle of the Davids brought monster-sized numbers to FOX. American Idol‘s final showdown actually improved upon last year’s finale. Meanwhile, Dancing with the Stars drew a lot of interest in the later half of the evening.

- American Idol (27.1 million, 10.1/28 in 18-49) was up from last year’s 25.3 million.
- NCIS’ two-hour finale (3.4/9) took in a respectable 16.5 million.
- A Dancing with the Stars* recap (8.9 million, 1.9/5) doubled According to Jim‘s numbers.
- Most Outrageous Moments (4 million, 1.4/4) did the same as before.
- A Reaper* repeat (1.8 million, 0.8/2) did 300,000 better than Beauty and the Geek.

- Dancing with the Stars (ABC, 8pm): Will it come down to the Olympic gold medalist, NFL’s Man of the Year or the Chilean actor? Never underestimate a man who telenovela fans supporting him.
- How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8:30pm): “Ted has an accident, and his close call with death finds him reevaluating his life and his relationship with Stella.” Yeah, I have no idea how he’s going to share her with Zach Braff either.
- The Bachelorette (ABC, 9pm): Season premiere. “DeAnna Pappas, the finalist who was spurned in 2007 by Brad Womack, is now dispensing the roses herself.” Why would anyone want to win if losing meant headlining your own show?
