Glee: Splits and Sectionals

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Music, Prime Time, FOX, Gossip, Video,
Glee’s “Special Education” episode kicked off right away -- no time for a recap in this drama-packed installment. Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) presented Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays) with tickets to the upcoming Sectionals event … but she wasn’t really feeling it. She advised Will not to ignore all the rich talent he has in his New Directions club. This prompted Will to change all his Sectionals plans … and Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) didn’t take it very well.
Will’s decision to feature Brittany (Heather Morris) and Mike (Harry Shum, Jr.) in a dance number, and Quinn (Dianna Agron) and Sam (Chord Overstreet) in a solo didn’t upset Rachel alone. Finn Hudson (Cory Montieth) quickly incurred the wrath of Santana (Naya Rivera), who let the beans spill that she and Finn had a liaison last year … which Finn subsequently lied about to Rachel.
Uh-oh.

ABC Working on Two New Musical Shows

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Music, Prime Time, ABC, Video,
ABC is taking a page out of FOX’s programming book by bringing viewers two new musically-themed shows next fall.
The first focuses on a mother-daughter duo, and will star Idina Menzel. The Broadway actress made a huge splash on Glee last year, and ABC is hoping she’ll do the same for them. Watch her performing "Defying Gravity" in the video above.
The second series is a female-driven sitcom, and there’s no word on casting just yet.

- 90210 (CW, 8 P.M.): "Dixon and Annie sign Debbie up for online dating, but she ends up with Ryan during a date." The dating pool in their zip code is surprisingly small.
- Giuliana & Bill (Style, 10 P.M.): "Giuliana encourages her niece to be a model and the encounter rekindle's Giuliana's desire to become a mom." She never quite understood the whole 'Stage Mom' thing until now.

Glee: Big Moments, Big Changes

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Music, Prime Time, FOX, Video,
Glee’s latest episode had so much packed into it, our heads are still spinning. Burt Hummel (Mike O’Malley) and Carole Hudson (Romy Rosemont) had a big announcement for Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Finn (Cory Monteith) at the top of the episode: they’re getting married. Who else squealed with delight when Kurt announced, “you’re having a glee wedding!”?
Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) was also thinking of marriage. After exploring the wide world of Internet dating and finding only one match for her interests (extreme taxidermy, tantric yelling, poking the elderly with hidden pins), she began to mail out invitations…for her wedding to herself.
The video above shows Lynch singing “Ohio” with guest star Carol Burnett, who plays Sue’s Nazi-hunting mom. Rumor has it that Burnett suggested the song (which is from “Wonderful Town”) to Ryan Murphy. Sue’s mom is exactly what you’d expect - mean and tough as nails. We can’t wait to see more of her.
Finn’s mom wasn’t the only receiving a proposal. Another couple moved forward in their relationship this week …

Kids -- let's not try to figure out how this would even work. Cookie Monster wants to be the host of Saturday Night Live and we need to make this happen.
In an attempt branch out "beyond his cookie-eating career," the self-proclaimed "cookie enthusiast" has created the audition tape above to land a hosting gig on the NBC program. In the clip, you can watch the Sesame Street character in a MacGruber-esque sketch ("Macarooner"), a news segment and a musical performance (as Monster Gaga).

MONDAY (11/22)
- Rules of Engagement (CBS, 8:30 P.M.): "A sheepish Jeff asks coworkers to sponsor Audrey's 10K charity run after he's told them not to include him in office fundraisers." To be clear, he didn't want shell out money for things he'd have to eat.
- Two and a Half Men (CBS, 9 P.M.): "Charlie spends money wildly for his old lover Courtney, who returns after spending three years in prison." Spending money on a woman who can finally relate to him? Priceless.
- Skating with the Stars (ABC, 9:11 P.M.): "The series opener of an ice-skating competition that pairs celebrities with professional skaters. Contestants include Vince Neil, Bethenny Frankel and Sean Young." That is one motley crew.

Anne Hathaway Takes on Kate Middleton, Katie Holmes on SNL

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Late Night, NBC, Saturday Night Live, Video,
Although she didn't do any of her sketches in the nude (as the men of Saturday Night Live had suggested), Anne Hathaway kept us watching this weekend.
In possibly the best broadcast (so far) this season, the Love & Other Drugs star proved she could pull her weight in a number of sketches.
After the jump, watch the Oscar nominee take on Katie Holmes, Judy Garland and Kate Middleton during her second SNL appearance. Is it safe to say she'll eventually be asked back for a third?
