Portia and Ellen DeGeneres-Could Portia DeGeneres find herself waltzing with a female professional on Dancing with the Stars? It’s believed American audiences could soon see its first same-sex DWTS pairing since the Israeli version recently did the same.

-Is Disney's Sonny with a Chance in jeopardy? It’s unclear how Demi Lovato’s decision to seek treatment for personal issues will affect production. The show was set to resume filming in mid-January.

-Today will be Gene Shalit’s final morning on the Today show. The longtime film critic will be signing off the program after 40 years. “It’s enough already,” the 85-year-old said.

-Speaking of retirement, this will be Jo Frost’s last season as Supernanny. "[Having children] is not an option when you are traveling and working 46 weeks out of the year. Proper balance will allow me to date and have a relationship and look at my own future of having a family," she explained.

MSNBC anchor Keith Olbermann, who recently made waves in the media community, issued an apology … or, what’s going to pass for one. The newsman was suspended from the cable news network after he donated to three separate (Democratic) political campaigns -- hardly the stuff of objective journalism.

Olbermann, who hosts MSNBC’s Countdown, apologized to fans for all the “unnecessary drama” surrounding the situation. He says he didn’t know the existence of the rule, which he says is applied inconsistently by NBC. He also stated he was told no form of discipline would follow his actions … just before he was suspended from the network.

NBC is working on a pilot based on Chelsea Handler’s autobiographical Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea, a humor book based on her life during her 20s. Handler will co-produce, but not star in, the series.

The comedienne may currently be seen on Chelsea Lately, her late night talk show.

On November 13, actress – with help from Arcade Fire -- will make her third appearance on the program. (The Iron Man 2 star previously hosted in Jan. 2006 and April 2007.)

Oscar nominee will then take the stage for her second time on November 20. Florence + the Machine will provide the musical entertainment that evening.
