Weeds: A Jagged Little Pill will be incorporated into the next season of Weeds. Alanis Morissette, who most recently guested on Nip/Tuck, will be donning more scrubs for the Showtime series. The singer will play Mary Louise Parker’s obstetrician for at least seven episodes and may even return next year. Meanwhile, Jennifer Jason Leigh (Margot at the Wedding) will be around for several episodes as Nancy’s older sister. Season 5 debuts on June 8.

The Closer: Mary McDonnell has just lined up her next basic cable job. The Battlestar Galactica vet just has been cast as Christina Hatcher, head of the Force Investigation Division. Unfortunately for Brenda, this captain won’t exactly be a member of her fan club. McDonnell is slated to appear in several Season 5 episodes.

MONDAY 2/9)
NOTE: A President Obama press conference will interfere with the previously scheduled programming.
- The Secret Life of the American Teenager (ABC Family, 8pm): “Ben and Amy’s relationship hits a rough patch when Ben tells her he needs some space.” The pressure of buying a Valentine’s Day gift was just too much for him.
- One Way Out (Discovery, 9pm): “The host braves a high-speed barrage of tennis balls and steep plunges into kiddie pools before becoming the projectile in a human catapult.” Idiotic stunts have just become more financially appealing.
- The Girls of Hedsor Hall (MTV, 9pm): Series premiere. “In the opener, 12 rude and crude bad girls from the U.S. enroll in a British finishing school for a chance to transform their lives and win a $100,000 trust.” The goal? To become the next Amy Winehouse or Lily Allen.
- CSI: Miami (CBS, 10pm): “Horatio believes that prominent defense attorney (Sean Combs) is involved in the cover-up of a murder.” Diddy doesn’t cover-up murders. That’s what his personal assistants are for.

- Chuck (NBC, 8pm): “In a 3-D edition, global rock star Tyler Martin (Dominic Monaghan) is marked for murder, so the agents kidnap the musician to discover who’s behind the deadly plot.” Unfortunately, they don’t understand his “My-plane-crashed-on-an-island-and-there-were-these-Others” story either.
- Heroes (NBC, 9pm): “The newly powerless Hiro resolves to help Ando become a true superhero.” Sorry, Suresh. You’re stuck with creating powers for yourself.
- Medium (NBC, 10pm): Season premiere. “Daughter Bridgette lands in trouble at school for drawing nude pictures of her art teacher.” She earned an “A” for technique, but an “F” for accuracy.
- For the Love of Ray J (VH1, 10:30pm): Series premiere. “The actor, singer-songwriter and brother of Brandy moves 14 beautiful women into his mansion and starts his search for love.” If Kim Kardashian can get a reality show, I guess her sex tape partner should get one too.

Nip/Tuck Returns After A Year Away

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, Cable, FX, Nip/Tuck, Video,
Although the image of actress Sharon Gless (Colleen Rose) turning a Hollywood agent into a large Build-A-Bear is still fresh on my mind, it’s surprisingly been a year since Nip/Tuck was last on air. (The show was temporarily halted in February 2008 because of the writers’ strike.)
So where exactly did the series leave off? Julia was shot by Eden, Christian and Annie were involved in a car accident on their way to the hospital, Matt started sleeping with his half-sister and Sean was stabbed in the back (literally) by Colleen.
To get a clue as to what the remaining episodes of Season 5 have in store for us, check out the preview above. Nip/Tuck returns to FX this Tuesday, January 6th at 10:00.
