On Gear Live: Samsung S95C: The OLED TV You Can’t Afford (to Ignore!)

Vincent PastoreIf you’re still trying to recover from the loss of , you might be able to satisfy some of your mobster cravings with a little General Hospital. Later this fall, Port Charles will welcoming one more criminal into its borders. Actor will be transitioning from his years in New Jersey to become the latest gangster in the New York town.

Vincent will play Maximus Giambetti, a mobster whose two sons, Max and Milo, currently work for Sonny Corinthos. He comes into town mistakenly believing Max Jr. is the head of operations in the area. He will then, of course, find out that his boys are only bodyguards. (I envision some tasty scenes with Diane trying to defend her loyal beau.)

Look for Pastore to enter the scene in October.

Although no tears were shed on today’s episode of The View, the co-hosts once again managed to get people talking.

After her performance of the hit song ‘I Kissed A Girl’, singer Katy Perry got a nice surprise from .

OmarosaAs reported previously, reality TV starlet Omarosa had a verbal confrontation with FOX talk show host Wendy Williams. After the on-screen blow up (in which the two women traded barbs about each other’s appearance and managed to fire insults almost with every breath), Williams commented to reporters that Omarosa is “pathetic” and “delusional.”

has now made her own choice statements to the press. “I stand by everything I said,” said she, expressing no regret over the argument she participated in during daytime TV.

“She’s a phony,” the former attention-getter said of Wendy Williams. “As long as she continues to be a fake and a phony, she won’t be successful.”

Omarosa and Wendy Williams gained attention on the The Apprentice for her uncompromising ways. Now, the reality TV star has put her own philosophy into a new book called The Bitch Switch. The book hits shelves in October, but Omarosa’s promotion of the piece has already begun…explosively.

The vixen appeared recently on The Wendy Williams Show, but instead of talking about the book the two ended up exchanging insults. “I wanted to throw her off the set,” Williams admitted after the incident to reporters.

It began right away with Omarosa’s introduction, which she said she did not like and announced she would not be “disrespected.” Williams took the book to show it off to cameras, but Omarosa quickly snatch the tome out of her hands. “Omarosa wished her career was my career,” Williams went on to reporters after the interview. “Omarosa is a delusional, D-list, pathetic woman.” Me-ow.

Regardless of whether you agree with the topic at hand, it’s always a great day on when a co-host ends up crying. It’s even better day when Elisabeth Hasselbeck is the one doing it.

On today’s show, things became quite tense between Elisabeth and during a discussion about the “N” word:

Okay - this was just too cute not pass on.

If you don’t have a reason to watch on a regular basis, you can have your brief moment of childish fun here. For the show’s upcoming premiere, Feist has put together a special version of its song ‘1234.’

Warning: If you’ve worked hard to get that iPod commercial out of your head, this may not be the best clip for you to watch.

Sesame Street‘s 39th season begins on August 11.

A few months ago, I listed 8 reasons why I thought Regis Philbin should start making his retirement plans. Now I would like to add a #9 and #10.

#9. Back in May, the talk show host was talking about the recent American Idol finale when he said, “What happened to the past winners? Where are they today?”  When told by co-host that they come on their show “all the time,” Regis responded, “Really? I haven’t noticed.”

#10. Philbin, who actually went to the premiere of yesterday evening, sadly referenced Heath Ledger as ‘Keith Ledger’. (You can see that clip from today’s show below.)

Genie Francis ReturnsGenie Francis, one half of daytime’s famed duo ‘Luke and Laura’, is returning to , albeit briefly.

Francis will reprise her role as “Laura"on the soap beginning August 26. Francis told the Associated Press the stint will be short and will deal mainly with her relationship with daughter Lulu Spencer (played by Emmy-nominated actress Julie Marie Berman). Genie Francis also indicated that she would resurrect her role as Laura on a more permanent basis if offered. “I would stay on, but General Hospital honestly doesn’t seem to want that relationship with this character at the moment. They want little short doses during sweeps periods. It’s not entirely up to me. I’m thrilled and delighted my audience stands behind me. If they didn’t, you can be sure I wouldn’t get to come back for these visits.”

Jessica SimpsonWhen I first heard Jessica Simpson’s newest single back in May, I said the singer should probably stick with country music. (When compared to the fluff she had been attempting before, it really seems to be the style best suited for her.)

Now after seeing her perform ‘Come On Over’ live on (you can watch that clip after the jump), I would like to offer Simpson just one more piece of advice: don’t ever let people see you sing.

One of the many things that has always bothered me about Jessica - aside from her love of the Dallas Cowboys - is her freaky facial distortions. Sadly, I’ve discovered her painful expressions (and general inability to move) will accompany her regardless of the genre she’s working in.

Tristan RogersAs if Robin needed more stress during her pregnancy.

Last week, we told you that Antonio Sabato Jr. would be visiting SOAPnet’s General Hospital: Night Shift this summer. His character, Jagger Cates, would serve as a reminder to Robin about her first love, Stone. Now another figure from Dr. Scorpio’s past will be checking into Port Charles: her father, Robert Scorpio.

When Season 2 of Night Shift premieres, GH alum Tristan Rogers will find himself admitted for “a major health issue that’ll have him grappling with his mortality.” (That ‘health issue’ must be going around; I think Luke Spencer caught it last year.) His stay at General Hospital will not only allow Robin to bond with her dad/patient, it will finally give Robert a chance to address his daughter’s HIV-positive status.

Could Tristan Rogers’ appearance also mean a possible reunion between him and Finola Hughes (Anna Devane)? Let’s hope! kicks off sometime this July.
