"Thank God I didn't need the money. You know there's that saying that you make your f*** you money in Hollywood? I made that. . . . My daughter's education is paid for. Her grandchildren's education is paid for. My mother's house is paid off. My father's house is paid off. My house is paid off."
-Actor Matt LeBlanc on not needing to work post-Friends. (He can currently be seen on Showtime's Episodes.)

The Game Raises Its Game on BET

Sometimes a cancellation can be the best thing to happen to the series.
When The Game was dropped by CW in May 2009, the comedy/drama about football players and their significant others was picked up by BET. That was a record-breaking move.
The first two episodes of Season 4 averaged 7.7 million viewers -- almost 6 million more than it did on the CW -- and set a viewership record for sitcoms on cable.

When Glee first premiered, and subsequently became wildly successful, there was lots of buzz about a reality show based upon the series. The idea was nixed just months later, disappointing many fans. But, we’ve got good news: The Glee Project is happening -- and it's hunting for new talent.
The new reality show gives hopefuls the opportunity to star in seven (yes, seven!) episodes of the popular series, but don’t expect American Idol-style auditions if you tune in. According to a recent statement, executive producer Dante Di Loreto wants to nurture new talent, not "make fun of people" who don’t have enough of it.
Look for The Glee Project on Oxygen in June.

Onion SportsDome: Comedy Central’s Promising Premiere
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, Cable, Video,
Tuesday was a big night for Comedy Central.
The evening marked the return of popular series Tosh.0, which became a solid lead-in for the channel’s side-splitting new series Onion SportsDome. And if you missed the premiere, it’s time to go on a TiVo hunting mission right now … because this is probably the best show of the season.
Brought to you by The Onion, the SportsDome is part parody, part satire and hysterical through-and-through. With segments like “Who Would You Kill,” Onion SportsDome shows us what all sports shows should look like. Hosts Alex Reiser and Mark Sheppard (played by Matt Walton and Matt Oberg) offer gut-busting deadpan delivery to lead the series.
The show’s total irreverence for all things sports makes it engaging and absolutely unique. We’re already hungry for more, but unfortunately the Dome won’t be back with a new episode until next week.

Drew Carey will reunite with Whose Line Is It Anyway? costars Colin Mochrie, Brad Sherwood, Greg Proops and Ryan Stiles for Drew Carey’s Improv-A-Ganza, which will air on the Game Show Network. Comedienne Kathy Kinney has also joined the cast.
The show, which will feature audience participation as well as improvisational comedy, premieres on GSN on March 28. The show will be taped live at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas this month.
Heather Anne Campbell, Jeff Davis, Chip Esten and Sean Masterson will help round out the cast.
We’re not sure how the game show aspect figures in to this comedy stage show -- but, we don’t care. Carey and crew shine at improv, and this is one Ganza we don’t plan to miss.

Quote of the Day: Kate Winslet on Doing TV Projects
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Mini Series, Cable, HBO,
"It never occurred to me, beyond the moment of reading those scripts, 'Wow, this is television, therefore it's going to be different somehow.' Sure we have more to shoot ... but the level of determination and level of focus was so much more intense than certainly any film I've ever been apart."
-Oscar winner Kate Winslet on filming Mildred Pierce, an HBO miniseries that will debut on March 27.

Kennedy Miniseries—Featuring Katie Holmes—Already Canceled
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Mini Series, Cable, Cancellations, Video,
It appears the actual Kennedys are the ones to thank played a role in the cancellation of The Kennedys – a miniseries once destined for the History Channel.
The eight-hour event, featuring Greg Kinnear as President John F. Kennedy, was to have focused on focus on the personal relationships within the famous family. And though Katie Holmes “worked as hard” as she could to portray former First Lady Jackie Kennedy, the project was scrapped from the channel’s schedule.
