NBC easily outweighed the competition last night. Tuesday’s finale of The Biggest Loser tallied its best ratings since the fall 2005 ender. That meant a double-win for the network. Meanwhile, a new Disney creation was a bright spot for ABC yesterday.

The Simpsons - Mr. BurnsSpringfield bad guy Montgomery Burns enjoyed a strong showing among write-ins for last month’s mayoral race in New York, scoring nearly 10% of the write-in votes.

Of the 299 write-in votes logged, the character got a whopping 27. Not bad for an animated character who wasn’t even running.

Of course, Michael Bloomberg was re-elected to office, trumping other write-ins like Mickey Mouse, Alfred E. Newman and Victor Von Doom.

Do viewers watch programs they know are being canceled? Based on Dollhouse‘s ratings last night, probably not. The FOX drama returned this weekend to series-low ratings. Elsewhere, fans of Ugly Betty did their best to keep that ABC comedy from the chopping block.
