Thursday Ratings: Many Goodbyes for ER

Last night, viewers came out of the woodwork to say goodbye to NBC’s long-running drama. ER‘s series ender attracted the largest audience for a drama finale since Murder She Wrote in 1996. (It also pulled in the best demos since the conclusion of The X-Files in 2002.)
8pm
- Survivor: Tocantins (11.2 million, 3.6/11 in 18-49) saw its smallest audience of the season.
- The ER retrospective (3.5/10) got 10.6 million warmed up.
- Bones (2.6/8) turned in 9 million.
- In the Motherhood (5 million, 1.6/5) lost 1.7 million; Samantha Who? (4.8 million, 1./4) gave up 1.7 million.
- Smallville (3.8 million, 1.6/5) was up slightly.

- Approximately 16.2 million watched the final chapter of ER (6.0/16 in 18-49).
- CSI (14.4 million, 3.7/10) hit a season low.
- Hell’s Kitchen (7 million, 3.2/8) fell by 3.9 million.
- Grey’s Anatomy* (1.5/4) settled in with 4.8 million.
- Supernatural (3.3 million, 1.5/4) picked up 100,000.
10pm
- Eleventh Hour (10.4 million, 2.5/7 in 18-49) slid 12% from its last original.
- Private Practice* (1.2/3) closed the night with 3.8 million.
