Wednesday Ratings: Ugly Start for Beautiful Life

When it comes to shows about young adults, it seems audiences prefer characters who are awkward and musical—not pretty and anorexic. Yesterday’s debut of The Beautiful Life bombed despite an ANTM lead-in and raised approximately 5 million less than its FOX competitor (Glee). As Stanford Blatch would say, TBL was Wednesday night’s fashion roadkill.
8pm
- The finale America’s Got Talent (3.5/10 in 18-49) averaged 15.5 million over two hours.
- Wipeout (2.1/7) took 6.2 million down.
- So You Think You Can Dance (5.7 million, 2.4/7) slipped by 800,000.
- The New Adventures of Old Christine* (1.1/4) had 4.5 million laughing; Gary Unmarried* (1.2/4) turned in 4.5 million.
- America’s Next Top Model (2.8 million, 1.4/4) took a 400,000 hit.

- Glee (6.6 million, 3.1/8 in 18-49) was off by 700,000.
- Criminal Minds* (1.8/5) also raised 6.6 million.
- Crash Course (1.4/4) revved up 3.7 million.
- The Beautiful Life: TBL (0.7/2) debuted to 1.5 million.
10pm
- The Jay Leno Show (13.1 million, 3.4/10 in 18-49) had an easy win in the hour.
- CSI: NY* (1.9/5) rounded up 7.5 million.
- Primetime: Family Secrets (1.4/4) attracted 4 million.
