Although the world first met the 13th Doctor, Peter Capaldi, in last year's Doctor Who Christmas special, the BBC has offered fans more of a glimpse of him (clearly to appease us for the long-awaited season premiere of the sci-fi series).

Holding his script next to Jenna Coleman - who plays the Doctor's current companion, Clara Oswald, in the show - Capaldi is seen wearing the same outfit from the cliffhanger of the Christmas special (the very one the Twelfth Doctor, Matt Smith, regenerated in).

"New job, first day, slightly nervous," Capaldi said in a statement released by the BBC.

While there's no word yet as to an exact premiere date for season eight of Doctor Who, statement also announced that showrunner Steven Moffat will be penning it with Ben Wheatley directing.
