Lil Wayne has lost a multi-million dollar endorsement deal with an American beverage giant.
The "Lollipop" rapper - who has epilepsy and suffered another seizure on Tuesday night - has been dropped by Mountain Dew over controversial lyrics that he penned about historic Mississippi teenager Emmett Till, who was beaten and murdered in a racist attack in 1955 after he allegedly flirted with a white woman.
The soft drinks brand, which is owned by PepsiCo, confirmed they have severed ties with the rapper and dropped their joint "DeWezzy" campaign on Friday because he wrote the line "beat the p***y up like Emmett Till" for the remix of Future's track "Karate Chop," which was leaked online in February.
"We do not plan any additional work with Lil Wayne moving forward. His offensive reference to a revered civil rights icon does not reflect the values of our brand," a spokesperson said.

Rihanna slammed long-term rival Ciara for allowing the media to "play her."
The 25-year-old pop star hasn't always seen eye-to-eye with the "Body Party" singer and has taken a swipe at her for always mentioning her in interviews. "Why am I still the main topic of her interviews!! She don't be shame tho? How she let em [the press] play her like that everytime?? It's like, 'yea I know you're here to talk about (insert album title) but we wanna talk about a more relevant topic...Rihanna!!! Like she sits there and falls for it everytime!!!! #whurrisyopublicist (sic)" Rihanna posted on Instagram.
The bitter row between the singers initially began two years ago when Ciara accused the Barbadian babe of not being "the nicest" when they met at a party. Rihanna sarcastically replied," My bad ci, did I 4get to tip u? #howrudeofme.(sic)"
The spat between the pair has fizzled out over the past year but Ciara recently re-started the argument when addressing Rihanna on an episode of Fashion Police saying she was "nuts" for ignoring her.

Diplo Produces New Track for Beyonce?

Beyonce has worked with Diplo on a new track.
The producer and his former Major Lazer partner Switch produced "Run the World (Girls)" - the first single from Beyonce's last album, 4- and he has been back in the studio with her again, although it is not yet known if their collaboration will be on her forthcoming fifth record.
"I'm in the middle of something for her at the moment," Diplo cryptically explained.
Beyonce is not the only pop titan the producer - who rose to fame after producing "Paper Planes" for M.I.A - has worked with, as he produced some songs on Justin Bieber's 2012 album Believe and was impressed with the 19-year-old star's skills: "The craziest thing about Justin Bieber is that the kid is crazily good at everything. He's really good at ping pong, the kid can rap, he has awesome hair, he's super cool and super nice."

Pharrell and Jay-Z’s Music Is Like a ‘Stanley Kubrick Movie’

Pharrell Williams has produced a track for Jay-Z which is like a "Stanley Kubrick movie."
The rapper and producer has joined forces with the hip-hop star to record for the follow up to his The Blueprint 3 album, and compares their work to the notorious filmmaker, famed for his attention to detail, perfectionism and tackling of grand concepts. Referring to the director - whose projects include A Clockwork Orange and The Shining - Pharrell told radio station Hot 97, "Rain Man is back, Rain Man is back. I gave him a straight up Stanley Kubrick movie."
Jay-Z refers to himself as the Rain Man because of his ability to come up with rhyming lyrics effortlessly. The reference is a tongue-in-cheek comparison to the gifted autistic character Raymond Babbitt who has incredible memory recall, as portrayed by Dustin Hoffman in the 1988 film Rain Man.
Pharrell also listed other big names he is collaborating with, including Jay-Z's wife Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, Busta Rhymes, Kendrick Lamar and No Doubt.

Snoop Lion to Return to Rap?

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Upcoming Releases, Hip-Hop & Rap, Reggae,
Snoop Lion might return to rap music. The controversial artist - formerly known as Snoop Dogg - reinvented himself with his latest album Reincarnated after embracing Rastafarian culture and music on a trip to Jamaica, but has hinted he could return to his former vocation.
The laid-back icon told NME magazine, "I don't know if I want to repeat the same process as far as going to Jamaica and making a reggae album. I may wanna go to another country and make a reggae album. I may wanna make a rap album. I don't know."
The "Drop It Like It's Hot" hitmaker could also be contemplating yet another radical overhaul and is open to the idea of traveling to a foreign country to immerse himself in a new sound and image: "I definitely feel like I'm gonna make more music but I don't know if I'm gonna go to Jamaica, I may wanna go somewhere else. I may wanna venture into another part of the world. Some things you let them be what they are. That was a priceless moment. I may wanna do something different next time."

Frank Ocean is being sued over his track "Lost." The singer, his record label Def Jam, and producer Malay are being sued by songwriter Micah Otano, who claims the song is too similar to his composition "Daylight."
Micah filed a lawsuit in California last week, seeking compensation for back royalties and damages. In the suit he claims he wrote the track "Daylight" with Malay, which the producer then copied for "Lost."
The track was the fourth single from Frank's breakthrough Channel Orange debut album in the US, which was won a Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album earlier this year.
Frank has also recently said he is hard at work on the follow up to his highly acclaimed debut and already has a concept and a number of songs ready: "I'm 10, 11 songs into this next thing. It's another cohesive thing bordering on a concept album again. At the end of Channel Orange there's "Golden Girl" and I kind of want to extend that feeling into the next record."

Taylor Swift Wants to Collaborate with Eminem

Taylor Swift wants to collaborate with Eminem.
The "I Knew You Were Trouble" singer is famed for her country-pop songs but she is also a huge fan of hip-hop and would love to do a song with the "Stan" rapper.
"I love hip-hop so much. There's something so honest about it," she said. When asked if she would jump on a track with Eminem, she added to InStyle magazine, "Nobody wants to hear me rap but I'd sing a chorus for someone for sure. I would sign up for that in a heartbeat."
Taylor, 23, is famed for her clean-cut image and while she admits people would be shocked if she started swearing in her music, she insists she has the final say on what she writes and releases and could do what she wants: "I don't have a big scary management situation where I have to ask them. If I wrote a song called 'F**k' I think people would kind of raise their hand and go, like, 'Maybe swear less?' But I just don't really feel the need to swear in my music."
