Usher and David GuettaDavid Guetta is working on a "really big" song with Usher.

The French DJ - who is renowned for his collaborations with the likes of Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Hudson and Flo Rida - has confirmed the pair are already planning to work together again after their success with "Without You."

"These are really big records we are working on right now. It's really crazy," he told The Hollywood Reporter. Although he would not give any more details, he added the song was "something really, really, really crazy."

Discussing the future direction of his work, David revealed it was likely he would do something with a bit more of an "underground" sound to it: "Lately I've been focusing more on making straight club beats, a little more underground. I'm gonna start meeting artists because me being in Los Angeles, there's a lot of talent here. There's always something happening. Every time I come to Los Angeles it's so tempting. You go into a studio and it's like, 'Oh, you're here?' and you meet so many people."

Kurt Cobain and Courtney LoveA duet between Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love has surfaced online. The late Nirvana singer and his wife can be heard singing together on the track, "Stinking of You," which was never released, but appears in a new documentary film about Patty Schemel, former drummer with Courtney's band Hole.

In the video clip, Courtney can be seen playing an acoustic guitar while she and Kurt sing. The couple's daughter, Frances Bean, looks on. The documentary in which the song appears is called, Hit So Hard: The Life And Near Death Story Of Patty Schemel, and tells the story of the drummer and her self-destructive streak, as well as the Seattle music scene which spawned grunge in the early 90s.

Last week former Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson claimed Kurt had recorded enough material for a solo album before he committed suicide in 1994: "He was headed in a direction that was really cool. He was going towards, a solo album but working with different people. I was really excited about some of the stuff he was working on. I got to see him play it in front of me. That's why I was really sad when he died. He was cut short. Who knows where this music would have gone?"

Meg and Jack WhiteJack White and Meg White haven't spoken much since The White Stripes split up. The duo called time on the band in February 2011 and the guitarist has since recorded a solo album Blunderbuss, while drummer Meg has stepped out of the spotlight to live a more sedate life in Detroit with her husband Jackson and their five dogs.

Jack hasn't had much of an opportunity to talk to Meg since the band dissolved, but he is happy the pair decided to call time on The White Stripes when they did:

"I don't get to talk to her often. Meg doesn't answer the phone! But I'm assuming she's fine. It's very sad (the split). It's like hopping on a train and waving goodbye to your kids. That was not an easy decision to make but it just had to be that way. Meg and I both knew that when the time came, we wouldn't push that band if it wasn't something we wanted to do. I think Meg was also wary of making records we weren't proud of. A lot of bands break up for band reasons so it was nice just to say, OK, that's it.'"

The Darkness

The Darkness are hoping to collaborate with Lady Gaga. The "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" hitmakers are set to support the pop superstar on her forthcoming Born This Way Ball tour and are hoping it will lead to entering the studio with the star.

"We were chosen by her. She had a shortlist of artists available and she didn't like any of them, so she chose us instead. Will we collaborate? I'm sure there's a cover we could do. It would be quite vaudevillian and spectacular," said the group's frontman Justin Hawkins.

Justin Bieber and Taylor SwiftJustin Bieber and Taylor Swift have made a "beautiful" record together.

The "Baby" hitmaker has recorded a track with the "Love Story" singer, and though few details about the collaboration have been made public, Justin's girlfriend Selena Gomez has heard the song and is very impressed.

"It's beautiful. I don't know if it's going to make it on the record, but it is beautiful," she said.

Meanwhile, the 19-year-old star admitted she has no plans to return to the recording studio any time soon as she is currently focused on her acting career: "We're maybe going to do some fun remixes, but right now it's just about movies."

Selena was thrilled recently when she learned Lea Michele will perform her track "Love You Like A Love Song" on a forthcoming episode of Glee and admits the inclusion of her track came as a surprise: "I didn't even know and my label didn't even know it was happening. Cory Monteith texted me a video of someone singing it and I was like, 'Wait, that's Lea!' I asked him if they were on set and he sent me back a smiley face. So that's how we found out."

Jack WhiteJack White improvised one of the songs on his new record on the spot.

The singer is about to release his first solo album, Blunderbuss, and was keen to challenge himself, so invited some musicians over and composed one of the tracks spontaneously.

"I had six sessions musicians invited to come in in the morning, and I had no song, I had no idea, nothing. And I went in the room and I pretended like I had a song. I sat down at the piano and played a C chord and then an F and thought, 'I gotta write something. Right now, right now!' These aren't friends of mine, they're studio session musicians waiting for me to tell them what to play. That forced me to do something I would never have done!" he told NPR.

Jack - who previously fronted The White Stripes - recorded the album with a number of different musicians, both session players and friends, including an all female band and an all male band, and was interested by how the dynamic of the recordings changed depending on the sex of the players.

Will.i.am and Cheryl ColeWill.i.am believes Cheryl Cole is similar to Michael Jackson.

The Black Eyed Peas star - who manages the Girls Aloud singer - thinks Cheryl is as much as a perfectionist as the late "Thriller" hitmaker, and claims her upcoming third solo album will be "big."

"I can't give too much away but Cheryl's album is going to be big. Like Michael Jackson she is a complete perfectionist. Unless she is 100 per cent happy with something she just won't put it out there. She has got some of the biggest artists and producers in the industry to work with her, not just because she is talented but because everybody who meets her loves her."

Will.i.am believes Cheryl's genuine nature is what makes people warm to her: "She is one of the most likeable people in the industry and to be genuine is as important as talent."

Justin Bieber and Carly Rae JepsenJustin Bieber surprised Carly Rae Jepsen with his songwriting abilities.

The "Baby" hitmaker has championed the Canadian singer/songwriter, even appearing in the music video for her song "Call Me Maybe," and while Carly was a fan of Justin's music, she had no idea what a prolific songwriter her is.

"[Justin's" extremely talented -- and, I mean, obviously that's pretty well-known -- but in ways that I didn't realise. I knew that he sang, I knew that he was sort of infectious in his personality, I knew that he danced, but I didn't know how strong of a songwriter he was, and my first introduction to him was actually in his studio and he played me a couple songs he had written, and I was really impressed and I was so glad, because I really, really liked him," she said, speaking in an MTV Twitter chat with fans.

Carrly also admires Taylor Swift and would love to work with her:

Justin BieberJustin Bieber says there isn't a lot of rapping on his new album. The 18-year-old singer can be heard talking/rapping on his latest track "Boyfriend," but he insists his upcoming third LP Believe is still a traditional pop record.

"There's not a lot of rapping on the album. As people know, I'm a singer, and I don't want to get people confused with that, but it's something that I love to do, so you guys will definitely hear more of it," he told MTV News.

On "Boyfriend" the verses are performed in a rap style by Bieber and the lyrics include the lines "If I was your boyfriend, I'd never let you go/ I can take you places you ain't never been before/ Baby take a chance or you'll never ever know/ I got money in my hands that I'd really like to blow/ Swag swag swag, on you."

The music superstar has collaborated with several big names on the record, including Timbaland, Drake and Lil Wayne.

RihannaRihanna has already started work on her next album. The singer only released sixth album, Talk That Talk, in November 2011, but is already coming up with ideas for a seventh record.

"I'm definitely thinking about the next record. I'm a multi-tasker. Right now we're working on collecting and creating the sound first before we even start working on the lyrical direction or melodies. I kind of have an idea though, and it's very rough right now. So I'm eager to start that," she told Capital Radio.

The 23-year-old singer - renowned for her controversial videos and her racy image - has already worked with an array of stars on her previous albums including Eminem, Drake and her mentor, Jay Z. She has also expressed a desire to work with British star Cheryl Cole after hearing her single "Parachute" and asked their mutual friend - will.i.am from Black Eyed Peas - to introduce them.
