Paul McCartneyPaul McCartney has stopped writing songs because he has so many.

The "New" hitmaker has such a large number of tracks saved up which he wants to finish before he starts on another batch. "I'm resisting writing any more songs as I've got so many. I got everything off my chest with 'New,' and next I need to go through my pile of demo ideas. It'll be like cleaning out my attic - I know I should do it even though I don't really want to," he told the Daily Star newspaper.

The star's 24th solo album, New, was only released this week, but Paul's already looking forward to his next record. "There are loads of songs I've started in the past couple of years that I need to finish off. Some are just sketchy ideas but I think there are a lot of strong ideas in my demos too, which I need to sit down and figure out how to finish," he added.

SlashSlash remains positive about reuniting the original members of Guns N' Roses.

The legendary "Nightrain" guitar player is open to the idea of getting back on stage with Steven Adler, Duff McKagan, Izzy Stradlin and Axl Rose, but says they haven't discussed it. "It's not something that any of us have reached out to each other and said that we wanted to do thus far. So, rather than be a pessimist and say, 'No, it'll never happen,' it's not like I'm harboring a lot of resentment. If it happens one day, it happens. If it doesn't, I don't think anybody's losing any sleep over it."

Guns N' Roses became one of the biggest bands in the world with their debut album Appetite for Destruction in 1987, but by 1994, the only original member left in the group was Axl, who continues to perform with the a different line up to this day. The original members were all scheduled to attend the band's induction to the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, last year, but Axl pulled out, and was booed at the ceremony.

Lana Del Rey on the cover of 'Nylon'Lana Del Rey is struggling to write her new album.

The "Summertime Sadness" hitmaker is working on the follow-up to 2012's Born to Die album and admits that she never knows what to say when she's quizzed on her new work as she doesn't know what it will sound like yet. "When people ask me about it, I just have to be honest - I really don't know... I don't want to say, 'Yeah, definitely - the next one's better than this one,' because I don't really hear a next one. My muse is very fickle. She only comes to me sometimes, which is annoying," she told nylonmag.com.

Lana - real name Elizabeth Woolridge Grant - was catapulted to the spotlight following the success of her debut single "Video Games" in June 2011 and has since found it harder to source inspiration from the "outside world." She explained, "It's harder to be an observer when people are watching you. You have to go further inside because the outside world becomes a harder place to draw from."

Metallica

Metallica is set to perform in Antarctica. The "Enter Sandman" rockers will take to the stage on the Earth's southernmost continent - which is mostly covered in ice at least 1.6km thick - at some time between December 2 and December 15 as part of a special Coca-Cola event.

Although the group haven't confirmed their participation in the event - which was announced on the drinks firm's Colombian website - drummer Lars Ulrich has previously hinted at a surprise planned for the end of the year: "There's a very interesting thing coming our way in December ... There's another frontier heading in Metallica's direction in December. Which, if anybody [in our management team] even knew that I just said what I just said, they would hunt me down and silence me. But there is another frontier coming in December, which we're very excited about."

Kanye WestKanye West cancelled his Vancouver Yeezus tour due to "unforeseen circumstances."

The 36-year-old rapper - who is dating Kim Kardashian - pulled out of his gig in the Canadian city on Sunday night, which was the second scheduled show for the star on his first solo tour since 2008. The official account for Rogers Arena - the venue which would have hosted the performance - wrote, "Tonight's @KanyeWest show has been postponed to October 31st. #YeezusTour [sic]."

In response to a disappointed fan who was shocked, the company added, "@FRNKSHW - Sorry, we're disappointed too. But no hackers here."

The show since been rescheduled and Kanye will take to the stage at at Rogers Arena on October 31 and will next be performing at the Sap Centre in San Jose tomorrow night. Rumors suggest the delay is linked to the stolen production equipment truck which caused a 2 hour delay on opening night of Kanye's tour in Seattle, where he was joined by support act Kendrick Lamar.

Katy Perry in Katy Perry was high when she recorded "California Gurls."

The singer was overcome by the weed smoked by her collaborator Snoop Dogg [currently going by the name Snoopzilla], when they recorded a rap in the middle section of the song, for her last album Teenage Dream.

"It was really cool. He came by the studio, played the song and rolled a J. Everybody was contact [passively] high. But he was super-cool and he's been around forever. It's really amazing if you meet someone that's been around for 20 to 25 years and they're still cool, because sometimes they aren't," Katy is quoted by The Sun newspaper as saying.

The first song Katy wrote for her latest album, Prism, was "By the Grace of God," which has a much darker tone, as it was inspired by Katy's breakup with ex-husband Russell Brand, and she admits she was in a bad way when she wrote it.

Madonna and Lady GagaLady Gaga is not a "reductive Madonna copy."

The "Applause" singer doesn't care if people accusing her of imitating the elder star - sparked by her 2011 single "Born This Way" bearing similarities to Madonna's "Express Yourself" - because she feels her work stands apart.

"LADY GAGA IS A REDUCTIVE MADONNA COPY! SHE'S OVER NOW! #WriteWhatUWant #SayWhatUWantBoutMe #ImNotSorry," she wrote on Twitter. She then added a link to a 2012 interview in which Madonna described her songs as "reductive," adding, "MADONNA HATES GAGA SHE'S OVER. I don't need anybody's permission to be remembered. I will be. Whether they like it or not."

Gaga, 27, also addressed her past issues with drugs and fluctuating weight in a similar manner: "LADY GAGA IS ON DRUGS. HER CAREER IS OVER! (Been an addict for 10 years) #WriteWhatUWant. My recovery is a daily battle."

Britney SpearsBritney Spears' team have been briefed to cover up her plans to lip-sync during her Las Vegas concert residency.

The "Toxic" hitmakers' managers have created a "cheat sheet" of answers to be given to curious media and fans about her two-year Britney: Piece of Me shows in the US gambling capital, and the document has now been obtained by the New York Daily News newspaper's Confidenti@l section. According to Confidenti@l, the paper features stock answers like, "Yes! She will be singing live!," "Certainly she will be singing live!," "Yes, all vocals will be live!" and "No lip-syncing will happen at the show."

However, the "special notes" section of the sheet indicates otherwise, and contains a note reading, "All vocals will be pre-recorded." It adds that the "live" band "will be pre-recorded also." The document warns staff at Planet Hollywood to "try and stay in the margins of the provided answers and refrain from elaborating replies."

The pop princess will kick off her residency on December 27 and is reportedly being paid $15 million a year.

Kim DealKim Deal could return to the Pixies.

The "Debaser" group announced this summer how their bassist had quit last year and although Kim Shattuck has been drafted in to replace her on the road, drummer Dave Lovering insists Kim could return in future: "We left it open. It was sad and tough when she left but we wish her well and she has a welcome back if she'd like to."

Kim departed suddenly a week into a planned six-week recording session and the band found it very "distressing" working out what to do next. "When she said she was leaving, it was distressing and there was a lot of panic and we were like, 'What are we going to do?' We were in the studio and it was all paid for, so we're thinking, 'Do you break up the band?' We thought the correct thing is to go forward. So we did," Dave said.
