Watch Fight Club in Two and a Half Minutes
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: 20th Century Fox, Action, Adaptation, Drama, Thrillers,
While I can’t say I’m blown over by the finished result, I have to appreciate that someone’s attempted to condense Fight Club down to 2.5 minutes.
But really - doesn’t Brad Pitt’s chest deserve at least 10 seconds?

Frank Miller - the man who wrote, produced and co-directed 2005’s Sin City - will soon be delivering us another visual feast.
In this clip, audiences are treated to a more revealing look at The Spirit. In the film, an adaptation of Will Eisner’s comic book series, Gabriel Macht will play a man who has faked his own death and now fights crimes from the shadows of Central City. Meanwhile, Samuel L. Jackson stars as The Octopus, the villain who intends to wreak havoc on the entire city.
Spirit, also starring Eva Mendes and Scarlett Johansson, opens December 25.
Drew Barrymore’s Ex Drops Out of Her Film

There’s a reason why they say you should never date a co-worker…
Nearly a month after breaking up with Drew Barrymore, Live Free or Die Hard‘s Justin Long has reportedly dropped out of his next film. The actor, who had been dating the free-spirited actress for about a year, was scheduled to star in Whip It!, Barrymore’s directorial debut.
According to E!, Long chose to back out of the movie shortly before shooting was scheduled to begin. The 30-year-old is supposedly still too “distraught” by the break-up to work under Barrymore. (Apparently some actors can’t separate their emotions from their work.) Unfortunately, distancing himself from the roller derby film won’t necessarily help Justin avoid Drew. The two still have to promote He’s Just Not That Into You later next year.

Wolverine Shows Up Other Comic-Con Guests
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Action, Adventure, Casting, Upcoming Releases,
San Diego is filled with costumed readers who delight in adventure and get a thrill from the works of Stan Lee. Scheduled appearances by stars like Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connolly, Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis made a big splash as Comic-Con, but it was the unscheduled appearance of Hugh Jackman that left everyone talking.
Jackman appeared in the crowd fresh off the Wolverine set and sporting stubble, but the audience ate it up. The actor bounded on stage to shake hands with Wolverine creator Len Wein to rousing applause, and even showed off a few clips from the upcoming X-Men prequel which will focus on his character’s story. He thanked the 6,000 people in attendance for their devotion and is today the highlight of every paper.
In other words, look for the Wolverine movie to make a ton of money in the near future.

Sequel News: Hairspray, Anchorman, School of Rock

Here’s the latest scoop on the sequel buzz spreading across Hollywood:
The film that inspired a Broadway show and an update may soon spawn another creation: a sequel. New Line Cinema, obviously encouraged by the success of the High School Musical franchise (and last week’s debut of Mamma Mia!), has asked John Waters to begin writing a treatment for a follow to Hairspray.
According to Variety, the studio hopes to reunite members of last year’s cast in time for a 2010 release. The story would again be set in the 60’s, just where the Turnblad family left off.
While no actors have yet been lined up, most of the musical’s key players - including director/choreography Adam Shankman - are scheduled to return.

Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:
While the Spider-Man execs keep themselves busy with talk about a fourth installment, Tobey Maguire is preparing to act in less-flashy fare.
For his next project, Maguire will reteam with director Gary Ross for another period piece. (The two previously worked together on both Pleasantville and Seabiscuit.) In The Crusaders, Tobey will play Jack Greenberg, a lawyer who was involved in 1954’s landmark Brown v. Board of Education case.
The film, an adaptation of Greenberg’s actual memoirs, will be written by Danny Strong - a recent nominee for his work on HBO’s Recount.

Christian Bale Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting Family
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip, Celebrity Controversy, Rumors,
UPDATE: No charges will be filed against Bale for the July 20 incident.
Is Christian Bale as dark off-camera as the characters he plays on screen?
According to Britain’s The Sun, the actor was arrested by police in London earlier today after reportedly assaulting his mother and sister at the Dorchester Hotel on Sunday. That is where Christian has been staying since arriving for Monday’s premiere of The Dark Knight. Although the two women reported the incident to police yesterday, officers chose to wait until after the red carpet affair before speaking to Bale.
It is customary in England for police to arrest someone before he has been questioned in connection to a crime. Since the 34-year-old has not yet been charged, a department spokesman could not specifically name Christian in the official statement:
“A 34-year-old man attended a central London police station this morning by appointment. He was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault. He currently remains in custody.”
Bale is next scheduled to be in Spain on Thursday for the Barcelona premiere.
