Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman is obsessed with picking her cuticles!

Despite the fact that her cuticles look fine to me, the Brothers actress is trying desperately to kick her bad habit and has resorted to carrying skin-smoothing products around with her to help calm the urge to attack her fingernails.

“I’ve been getting better, but not really. I try to put moisturizer in my bag at all times so when I have the impulse, I put moisturizer on.”

Marie HelvinMarie Helvin still can’t find the perfect white shirt.

The 57-year-old model - who was a regular on the catwalk and in fashion magazines during the 70s and 80s - has never been able to find a style of shirt which fits her properly despite owning a huge collection of designer clothes.

“I am constantly searching for the perfect white shirt. At my age, I can’t wear all these short, tight things anymore. I’d look ridiculous. I like a plain white shirt, a black A-line skirt and some nice shoes. And that’s it.”

Marie - who has worked for designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, Versace and Valentino - is due to auction off her old wardrobe with upmarket vintage clothing experts Kerry Taylor in London next week. The collection will go under the hammer at the same time as the late screen icon Audrey Hepburn’s clothes.

However, Marie is not sad to see her outfits go up for sale: “I can’t even get a finger into them now!”

Marie - who was previously married to famed photographer David Bailey - previously said she wanted to get rid of her old designer gowns because she didn’t think it was appropriate for her to wear them anymore. “Kate Moss will probably snap them up for Topshop. Hah! But you know, I don’t think it’s appropriate to dress too sexily at my age. Anyway, I can’t get into them any more,” she said.

Christopher Kane

“It’s a bit mad, isn’t it? It feels like it’s happened all of a sudden and at some shows this season the front row was just all bloggers. I think it will die down though, and people know what they are doing. No one who wants to read a serious review of a show is going to look at what a 14-year-old thinks. But it has become more critical; people can say what they want about anyone on a blog without consequences and that’s quite scary. There are real repercussions for a designer if a photo of something is leaked by a blog; it can be copied in a fortnight and that can really harm a business. You have to be much more careful now.”

- Fashion designer Christopher Kane talks about the emerging internet presence in the fashion industry.

Roland Mouret for Net-A-PorterRoland Mouret’s “Rainbow” range for Net-A-Porter has been launched today.

The French designer - whose legendary moon dress was made famous by Spice Girls singer Victoria Beckham - has teamed up with the London-based luxury online clothing store to create an exclusive brightly-colored range of dresses under his RM by Roland Mouret label.

The party styles include six mini-dresses and one mini-skirt with a luxurious silk appearance made from draped fabrics which effortlessly conceal lumps and bumps and result in an extremely flattering fit. The frocks can be bought at Net-A-Porter.

This is not the first time the iconic dress designer has worked on a range of fun party dresses. Last year, it was revealed Roland, 47, would team up with singer-turned-designer Victoria to create a limited edition range of little black dresses. Victoria first became a fan of Roland in 2006, when she was seen wearing his 50s-style Galaxy grey dress. The following year, she donned his skintight Moon dress in hot pink when her soccer star husband David made his first appearance for the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Jennifer Aniston's yoga DVDJennifer Aniston says that yoga changed her life.

The former Friends star appears in the introduction to Yogalosophy, a new workout DVD fronted by her friend and yoga instructor Mandy Ingber, and says she was amazed at the impact learning the discipline had on her.

In the short clip, she says, “She brought yoga into my life. It completely changed my life. It’s one of the most fun workouts I’ve ever had. So have fun and work hard because it will totally pay off.”

It was recently claimed that Jennifer, 40, flew Mandy from Los Angeles to New York to help her get in shape when playing a younger woman in The Bounty.

A source said, “Jennifer has had a totally overhaul for this film. She wants to be seriously fit, yet remain curvy. There are a lot of early starts on set, so she has had to get up at 3am to get two hours in the gym before filming at 5am. She is supposed to be playing a 35-year-old, and is concerned she won’t look the part now she is 40. It hasn’t been easy, but she has combined one-on-one yoga sessions with grueling weight and workout sessions. Her new body is the talk of the set and she is reveling in the attention. Everyone agrees that Jennifer is looking sensational at the moment. Her curves have definitely been noticed - she is glowing.”

Lady Gaga on the cover of next month's Elle

While Helena Christensen has taken the Elle UK cover for January, both Lady Gaga and comeback pop princess Britney Spears nab the spot for next month’s American Elle.

Usually never one to stick very long with a look, Lady Gaga keeps her curly, blonde locks/“Bad Romance”/Marilyn Monroe style (or perhaps simply shot this around the same time as the video?) for the Elle photo shoot.

Check out a look at Britney Spears‘s cover and photo shoot (which she shares with her two sons) as well as more images of Lady Gaga after the break.

Jennifer Lopez in Louboutins at the VMAsVery much unlike Manolo Blahnik’s sense of appreciation for who made him a household name (ahem, Carrie Bradshaw), another famous shoe designer named Christian Louboutin is thankful for Jennifer Lopez’s song, in which his name is repeated 45 times.

It may have something to do with the fact that Lopez actually got his name right:

“Jennifer told me about the song back in January, and I was extremely flattered. But of course, in America the public pronounces my name in like a million different ways. So Jennifer called me, and she was like, ‘Listen, I want to make sure that I get it right.’ And she did…from the very first time!”

Louboutin is currently hard at work on the heels set to appear in the music video for the pop star’s track, scheduled to begin filming next month. At least she’ll be able to edit out any future shoe malfunctions during those performances.

With collaborations ranging from Jennifer Lopez to Barbie, Louboutin makes it clear why he can turn down diffusion lines!

Helena Christensen's Elle shootHelena Christensen was worried that her grandmother would die of shock when she posed nude.

The supermodel, who turns 41 on Christmas Day, stripped off for a racy photo shoot for Elle magazine but says she only agreed to it because she know the shots would be subtle.

“I have no problems with showing my body. I just wanted the nudity to be in that normal, subtle way because my grandmother is still alive and I want to keep her for another 15 years. I don’t want her to get a shock.”

Helena also says she would like to follow in the footsteps of fellow supermodel Kate Moss and launch her own clothing range: “Obviously, Kate has an exclusive style, so it’s a huge value she can pick the things she picks. I would be super-happy to have a big company behind me like that, who will trust your style and base whole collections on it. That’s the ultimate.”
