Vanessa and JohnnyThe new face of Chanel handbags, , says French women inspire each other to be stylish.

The actress - who was raised in the suburbs of Paris - doesn’t think France’s capital is any more fashionable than other cities, it’s just that their way of life makes their clothes more accessible.

“I don’t think French women have more style. Maybe it’s because Paris is a city where you walk in. In America, everyone drives, and you cannot see what anyone is wearing when they are locked in a car. Here, everyone checks out each other. We communicate with clothes here more and, as a result, inspire one another.”

The 37-year-old beauty, who is a favorite of , also revealed how she has given up smoking to help stop the ageing process: “I quit smoking roll-ups, which helps enormously; that’s it. I do drink lots of water, though I like wine - Bordeaux.”

Lady Gaga in her Telephone video

“I am a feminist. I reject wholeheartedly the way we are taught to perceive women. The beauty of women, how a woman should act or behave. Women are strong and fragile. Women are beautiful and ugly. We are soft spoken and loud, all at once. There is something mind-controlling about the way we’re taught to view women. My work, both visually and musically, is a rejection of all those things. And most importantly a quest. It’s exciting because all of the avant-garde clothing, and musical style and lyrics that at one time was considered shocking or unacceptable are now trendy. Perhaps we can make women’s rights trendy. Strength, feminism, security, the wisdom of the woman. Let’ make that trendy.”

Alexander McQueen gown up for auctionTwo dresses are being sold at an auction. The items - taken from the late designer’s Fall/Winter 2007 ready-to-wear collection - consist of a floor-length gold number and a cream gown with peacock feather bustier.

The auction will take place at Bonhams, Knightsbridge, in London on June 30 with the gold dress expected to fetch as much as $26,000, while the cream piece is estimated to take $20,000. McQueen’s collection was based on a distant relative who had been convicted of being a witch in 1692 and models in the show walked down a Ouija board while projections of grim scenes of death and crawling animals was played.

A collection of clothes belonging to McQueen’s long-time friend Isabella Blow - including a number of his pieces - is also being put up for auction at Christie’s in London later this year.

Patricia Frost, director of Fashion and Textiles at Christie’s, said, “What we have is unique. It shows that McQueen really deserves his place in fashion history and that Isabella was there before anyone else, she saw what was good so far ahead of the game.”

Alexander WangAmerican fashion designer is to launch a new clothing line.

The 24-year-old has already had great success with his debut range, T, and will now expand his empire by unveiling a collection of “essentials,” which will be launched later this year.

“After last season we started looking at our carry-over business, what our customers come back for again and again. There’s also this perception that we’re very young. Going to trunk shows, women always say, ‘Oh my gosh, I love your brand.’ This is our way of being more democratic.”

The collection will initially consist of three pairs of trousers, two jackets and a flat-front shirt and will be different from his T line, which comprises luxury T-shirts. Wang, whose first store will open later this year, said, “T is very casual and easy. I don’t want to say the new line is based on tailoring or business attire, but they’re two different focuses.”

Wang recently said his rise to success has been “mind-blowing”:

It isn’t often that a lingerie commercial - with absolutely no words spoken in it - helps a model land a blockbuster film. So you can’t blame for boasting a bit.

Now that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has officially replaced Megan Fox in Transformers 3, the company is free to highlight her talents.

Oh - and in case you’re wondering how Rosie came to Michael Bay’s attention, it’s because she was featured in a Victoria’s Secret ad he directed.

Miley Cyrus in MadridMiley Cyrus in Madrid

If you can’t take the height, get out of the shoes!

Pop star was spotted in Madrid promoting her new album dressed in some classy high-waisted pants and a killer pair of Christian Louboutins; however, the former Disney star needed lots of help (i.e. from a neighboring wall and an aid) getting around in them.

Miley’s questionably provocative style has been targeted by the media recently. I, for one, can’t say that they don’t have a point when the 17-year-old can’t even hold her own in a pair of heels! Perhaps she should take some advice from platform queen .

Lady Gaga

Pop singer sure wasn’t kidding when she said she had a fascination with monsters.

The 24 year-old artist recently performed in Nottingham, England last Thursday in this hair-raising get-up. It’s one thing to favor extravagant hats and over-the-top wigs, but it’s another thing to nearly cover your entire body in what looks like a giant unicorn’s tail.

Should Gaga be working as a freaky school mascot or honored for her extreme fashion-forward thinking?

Lindsay Lohan wearing her SCRAM bracelet back in 2007Partying in Cannes has given a penchant for Chanel—so much that she wants the fashion house to decorate her alcohol-monitoring bracelet!

The actress has to wear the SCRAM device as part of the bail conditions imposed on her by a Los Angeles court but she isn’t a fan of how it looks and has pleaded with the French fashion house to custom-design it. The troubled star posted on her Twitter: “can CHANEL please help me out by getting me some stickers to put on my scram bracelet so that i can at least wear a chic dress?! maybe!? (sic).”

However, the SCRAM bracelet is not allowed to be tampered with and if Lindsay - who has her own fashion line - gets her wish, she could be thrown in jail. As part of her probation, which she was placed on following her second driving under the influence (DUI) conviction in 2007, Lindsay must wear the device at all times, even though her lawyer asked to have the restrictions changed because of her work.
