Can't shop at a retail store that doesn't publish its own catalogue fashion magazine? Me either. Thankfully, Topshop has jumped on that trend trade and finally published 214, which has landed in select stores.
"SELECT STORES?!" asks the U.S. customer. Don't worry, they want your money, too, which is why they've made the Spring/Summer 2011 issue available online!
The main editorial, "Shades of Summer," -- photographed by Saga Sig and styled by Anna Trevelyan -- highlights all the bohemian meets '70s products in the line. Check out the front cover photo after the jump.

Items Du Jour: Katy Perry Covers Elle, Lea Michelle Covers Cosmo
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Fashion Shows, Health & Beauty, Models, News,
-- Mother of Johnny Depp's kids and muse to Karl Lagerfeld, Vanessa Paradis, makes eye patches sexy by sporting a black rose one on the cover of i-D Magazine. Is this her hint at wanting a role in Pirates of the Caribbean?
-- Katy Perry tones down her costume look for Elle magazine, where she instead sports a colorful Gucci suit. Looking a bit like Emily Blunt on the cover, Perry's business attire works well for her.
-- Of course, Perry can't always keep to tame pants suits. The 26 year-old appeared at the Mexico City launch of her new fragrance -- Purr by Katy Perry -- in a purple dress that left little to the imagination.
-- Continuing on her unspoken path to rid the cosmetic world of chemicals, supermodel Gisele Bundchen has just proclaimed her detestment of sunscreen, calling it poison. Of course, those who are fighting tirelessly for the prevention of skin cancer are outraged.
-- Speaking of outrage, Glee actress Lea Michele landed the cover of Cosmopolitan wearing a v-cut top that -- gasp -- almost reveals her navel! Naturally, Glee parents who have no concept of the difference between television characters and the people who portray them, are upset.

Fashion Police: Russell Brand Opts for Comfort Over Style
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, News,
While comedian Russell Brand is not one to stray from his goth/glam/trashy look, the newly Mr. Katy Perry recently took a daring fashion plunge in New York with this fuzzy, suede coat. It may be cozy, but I think that everyone can agree that the comfy argument still doesn't make Ugg boots okay -- the same applies to Brand's look.
If the funny guy wants people to take him seriously, perhaps he ought to take some outerwear cues from Joshua Jackson.

Quote of the Day: Daisy Lowe on Karl Lagerfeld, Curves
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Fashion Shows, Health & Beauty, Models, News,
"My dream is to see a lot more female shapes in ad campaigns when I look through magazines...my friend was working with Crystal Renn and said she thinks she's only got a 38-inch hip. Karl Lagerfeld said he was going to embrace her womanly shape and then he just put her face on the ad campaign. Girls are starting to have tits in pictures, but I think it still needs to be about the curve... Real women have hips and an arse, yet loads of models in shows seem to have neither."

PHOTOS: Julianne Moore for Talbots
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Editorials, News,
Thanks to Julianne Moore, Talbots has officially become an acceptable place to shop.
The actress may have been snubbed far too many times at the Oscars, but the woman still manages to score the best fashion gigs: the provocative Bulgari ads, Lagerfeld's Pirelli calendar, and getting called in for just about every Tom Ford project.
Naturally, Talbots jumped on her stylish reputation and hired her to sell their clothes. And sell them she does!

Kate Moss, Lea T Round Off Last Love Covers
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Health & Beauty, Models, News,
Riccardo Tisci's former assistant-turned-model Lea T snagged a second of five alternate covers of Love's Androgynous Issue -- the first of which she is photographed kissing Kate Moss -- only this time, she poses solo.
Photographed by Mert and Marcus, Lea's strong -- yet beautiful -- features arrest the viewer, as she stands centered in a vulnerable position. Powerful, no doubt, I wonder if the obnoxious words "This is Hardcore" really needed plastering in the middle of the image.
While many doubted the 28 year-old's place in Tisci's Givenchy ads -- pointing to her transgender story that stole fashion headlines and a revealing Vogue Paris editorial -- I think that this Love cover cements her place in the industry.
Kate's cover, on the other hand, is not so flattering (seen after the jump). While the supermodel's freckles are a plus, the styling efforts failed at making her pass as a guy. Also, someone on the editing team didn't know what to do with the contours and shadows of her chest.

Kim Kardashian Upset Over Nude W Photos
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Editorials, News,
Reality star and occasional model Kim Kardashian has blasted W Magazine on her show for a nude shoot she did back in October for their November Art issue.
Despite having previously posed nude in Playboy and Harper's Bazaar, Kim was extremely upset over what she claims was misrepresented when pitched to her:
"Oh my God, I'm more naked that I was in Playboy. I'm so mad right now. [The magazine] promised I would be covered with artwork -- you can see the nipples! The whole concept was sold to me that nothing would be seen. I feel so taken advantage of … I've definitely learned my lesson. I'm never taking my clothes off again, even if it's for Vogue."
What never compelled her to confirm that minor stipulation with the magazine is beyond me. Considering the lengths she seems to go to grab headlines, I can't seem to buy her story. Moreover, I think that it's laughable that she'd think there's a possibility in Anna Wintour's this reality that Vogue would ever ask her to be in their magazine.
W, of course, was quick to respond:

Helena Bonham Carter Explains Her Fashion Decisions
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Celebrities,
Although Helena Bonham Carter's career has included a list of memorable performances, the choices she has made off-screen are what many people know her for.
So why exactly does the King's Speech star make such interesting fashion decisions for herself?
“Sometimes I get it right and I sometimes I get it wrong,” the recent Oscar nominee told People. “But fashion is all about having fun. I think fashion has been hijacked by the fashion industry creating rules on what one should wear and I feel like breaking the mold and seeing that the world won’t crumble.”
Apparently one of those rules she doesn't mind breaking is wearing two shoes of the same color.
“Why not wear mismatching shoes? Who says we can’t? I was just having fun,” she explained. “For me, fashion is all about fantasy and putting unlikely things together."
It should come as no surprise that a fashion experimenter like her would look up to a risk taker like Lady Gaga. "I love the way she dresses. She’s like a work of art,” Bonham Carter declared. “Anybody who is inventive, different or has fun like her, I love and admire. I’m amazed that she’s able to stand up in some of those shoes she wears.”
