Video Transcript:

A few people have asked me for my thoughts on the iPhone SE, but it’s really the simplest phone to review. For all intents and purposes, the iPhone SE takes the features and guys of the iPhone 6S, and squeezes it down into the body of the iPhone 5 and 5S. So, if you want the latest hardware and software features, but don’t want a huge phone, then the iPhone SE is for you. Rather than going into a lengthy review, you can check out my iPhone 6S review, and instead in this video I’ll focus on protecting your iPhone SE with cases from VRS Design.

If you’re someone who purchases a case for your phone, you’re not alone. In fact, 75% of smartphone owners have a case on their phone according to NPD’s Retail Tracking Service report from about two and a half years ago. Now that may have changed a little since then, but obviously, it’s a lot of people. I’m personally a big fan of VRS Design cases, and I’m gonna show you the four styles that they have available for the iPhone SE, starting with the Crystal Bumper Series - oh and remember, all these cases are also compatible with the iPhone 5 and 5S as well!

The Crystal Bumper is the most minimalist iPhone SE case that VRS Design offers. The cool thing is that it’s actually made in two parts. On the inside you get the high-grade soft casing made from impact-resistant thermoplastic polyurethane, which provides protection for the entire device, including 1mm of protection right on front. It’s clear, so you can see the rear of your phone through it. Around the sides though, it’s covered by the polycarbonate bumpers with a metallic finish. Naturally, those finishes are satin silver, champagne gold, steel silver space gray, and rose gold. You’ll see that them a lot in this video in fact, and it’s those options and attention to detail that impress me so much about VRS Design. You can pick up the Crystal Bumper on Amazon for $16.99.

Up next is the High Pro Shield case, sporting a shock-absorbent body with hard side bumpers in a brushed metal finish. This one is similar to the crystal bumper, except rather than sporting a see-through thermoplastic polyurethane casing, you get a black casing instead. On the rear there’s a cut-out right where the Apple logo is on the iPhone so that you can still show off your love for the company. On the outside you still get the polycarbonate bumper with rounded edges and brushed metal finish, which also come in champagne gold, rose gold, satin silver, and steel silver. The High Pro Shield case can be found on Amazon starting at $16.99.

Next up is the Thor Series case. As you can see, this one doesn’t have the removeable polycarbonate outer bumper. Instead, this is a nice, solid, dual-layered design. It curves inward, almost hourglass shaped, in order to provide a more ergonomic grip, while completely protecting the iPhone SE. Like the previously mention cases, it even has a 1mm lip along the front of the phone to protect from shock and scratches, and it exceeds the Military Standard Drop Test. Like the others, you can get it in champagne gold, rose gold, satin silver, and steel silver for $14.99 on Amazon.

Finally, my favorite of the cases - this is the Layered Dandy series of cases. These are very different from the others. What you have here is more refined, with extra function and practicality. The Layered Dandy offers full protection, with the raised edges that VRS Design uses in all their cases to protect the front of the device, but here you get it in wallet form. It closes like a book, but still gives you access to all the ports and buttons. When the front is closed, you can even still use the microphone and earpiece to have a phone conversation. The clip sels shut with a magnet, making it super simple to open and close, and on the inside of the cover flap you have three card slots so you can carry cash, ID, credit cards, etc. This one is super convenient, looks fantastic with that multicolored look and stitching - the three colors available here are wine red, coffee brown, and black with red accent. You can pick this up for $21.99 on Amazon right now.

There you have it guys, four fantastic options for the 75% of you who buy cases for your phones from one of my favorite case makers in VRS Design. In case you missed it, I also featured some of the VRS Design cases in my What’s In My Tech Bag - Overkill Edition video. I’ll link that in the description below so you can check those out. Now I wanna hear from you. Leave a comment down below letting me know which of these is your favorite, and also let me know because I’m curious - gold, rose gold, silver, or space gray?
