Hey guys, welcome to Bleeding Edge TV, I'm Andru Edwards. This is the show that brings you tech news and reviews through the eyes of GearLive.com. In today's episode, I'm showing you how to update the software, the firmware, on your Monster SoundStage wireless speaker.

Now if you're just catching up on our Monster SoundStage series, I've already shown you how to get it set up on your home network using WPS, as well as using your smartphone or tablet.

The first thing you should do though, after you get it set up and get it connected to your network, is check for updates. Monster's releasing new features and improvements all the time for the SoundStage line, and you want to make sure you have the latest features running when you start using the product.

So, here's how to check for updates. In the SoundStage app, you may receive a notification that an update is available, and if that's the case, you can accept it and start the update process right there. Or, if you'd rather wait, you can always go into the settings menu and check for updates manually.

Now, once you start running an update the control menu is gonna blink red. It's gonna do that for the duration of the update. So while that's happening, just leave it alone, let it do its thing.

Once the update is complete, the control menu will stop blinking and in fact it'll turn off. So, no more illumination.

When that happens unplug the SoundStage speaker. That's the most important part. Unplug the speaker from the back, and leave it unplugged for at least 10 seconds. After 10 seconds is up, plug it back in.

This time you'll notice that the control panel will blink red very quickly. This is applying the update and finishing the update process. When it's done, it'll turn itself off.

At that point, just turn it back on. And that's it! Now your Monster SoundStage is completely updated.

That was your look at how to update the Monster SoundStage speaker, that process applies to all three versions. The S1, the S2, and the S3. If you like what you saw today hit the like button.
