Apple announced the brand new Apple TV with Siri Remote at its latest event on September 9. I was able to get my hands on a unit that day, and bring you the first unboxing of the new 2015 model Apple TV. As you can see, the Siri Remote control is made of metal and looks nice up close. The hardware buttons will make it less frustrating to use for sure. The Apple TV device itself looks similar to the previous 2012 and 2013 models, just a little bit thicker.

Alright guys, Apple just announced their new iPhone, new Apple TV, new iPad Pro, new iPad mini 4. We're here in San Francisco, it took quite a bit of digging, the Apple TV doesn't come out until October, but we're opening one up right now in this episode of Unboxing Live! Stay tuned.

Hey guys, welcome to Unboxing Live! I'm Andru Edwards, this is the show that brings you vicarious thrills through opening new gear. Obviously I'm not in my normal environment right now. Not filming from my home today.

As I said in the open, Apple announced their new iPhones, and new iPads, and new Apple TV. Finally, been waiting for the Apple TV. And although it doesn't come out until October, I have one in my possession right now. So I'm gonna show you what's in the box, what it comes with, give you a closer look at the Siri Remote, and all that. So let's open it up.

Oh and by the way, hit the subscribe button up there because there's a big tablet out there that I might wanna show you as well. Let's go ahead and get started opening up the Apple TV 2015 model.

Alright. Here we go, opening up the Apple TV. Alright, so there is the actual Apple TV unit. And there is the Siri Remote. There is a Lightning cable in there as well. And here you've got a power cable. That's it for what is in the box.

So that's the power cable, we don't need that either. First let's open up the Apple TV box itself. There you see it. Pretty nondescript, it's that same black box that we've seen from Apple before.

Go ahead and remove the plastic. What you see there is the power connector, an HDMI port which is now HDMI 1.4, a 10/100 Ethernet port so it's not Gigabit, but it does support 802.11ac which is actually faster than this wired port now.

And a USB-C connector. Put that there for a moment. Go head and open up the Siri Remote. Now in Apple's event, this looked kind of cheap and plasticky, it's actually not. It's metal. So there you can see the metal rear, you've got the microphone there, Apple logo there.

And some hardware buttons, so you've got a menu button, a TV button, I assume that's Siri, volume up, volume down, and play pause. I'm not sure what the TV button is yet, this might be to actually turn on your TV or receiver, I'm not sure. We'll see.

Anyway, it feels nice, the trackpad is nice and smooth. It is a glass trackpad, so yeah, there that is. And again, here on the bottom there is a Lightning port, so in order to charge this, you take the included Lightning cable and you would just plug that in and then plug it into a USB port and your remote is charging.

So there you have it. That is the Apple TV, the new Apple TV 2015 model along with the new Siri Remote right there. That's really all there is to it in the box. So I'm gonna go ahead and get this all set up and plugged in and start testing it out, but I wanted to give you guys at the very least the very first look, the first unboxing, of the new 2015 Apple TV with the Siri Remote.
