VIDEO: Amy Ryan Returns to The Office Tonight
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, NBC, The Office, Video,
While it's still not known exactly how Steve Carell will depart from The Office, I'm guessing his exit might have something to do with the Christmas "Holly" arriving in Scranton.
On tonight's episode, Holly Flax (Oscar nominee Amy Ryan) will make her long-awaited return to Michael Scott's Dunder Mifflin branch. Flax, who's scheduled for eight episodes, will be filling in for Toby once again. (Scott's nemesis will be away on a leave of absence.)
So will Holly finally dump her Nashua boyfriend? Will she forgive Michael for the herpes scare? Tune in!

Glee: Christmas Episode Filled with Gifts for Fans
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Music, Prime Time, FOX, Video,
William McKinley High was decked out in its holiday best for “A Very Glee Christmas,” but Mr. Schue (Matthew Morrison) didn’t have a lot to feel cheerful about. Emma (Jayma Mays) is married, and even her invitation to the Christmas party she’s having with her new husband felt like an insult. We discovered near the top of the episode that Brittany (Heather Morris) still believes in Santa Claus. Artie (Kevin McHale) became determined at once to preserve her childlike illusion … at all costs.
This all led into a fantastic scene featuring “The Most Wonderful Day of the Year,” in which all the Glee kids decorated a festive tree … though the ornaments, fake gifts and even the tree were either stolen or found. Will Schuester couldn’t allow them to keep their pilfered holiday items, of course.
New Directions wasn’t feeling a lot of holiday cheer, either … mainly, because the football team learned how to turn slushies green using food coloring. Mr. Schue came up with the abysmally bad idea to take the club around to carol from class to class. It was a debacle, of course, though there was nothing wrong with Mercedes (Amber Riley) and her beautiful rendition of “We Need a Little Christmas.”
But green slushies and stolen Christmas ornaments are nothing compared to the pain that Rachel (Lea Michele) is feeling. Despite her very best efforts, ex-boyfriend Finn (Cory Monteith) continues to shun her … yes, even after hearing her perform “Last Christmas.” When she mournfully performed “Merry Christmas, Darling,” Puckleberry fanatics all over the country became Finchel converts.

Mystery Donation Brings Christmas Cheer to Salvation Army … and Many More
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Cable, Video,
The first Salvation Army kettle fundraiser was conducted way back in 1891, providing Christmas meals to thousands who otherwise would have had little to enjoy. Today, the bell-ringers are visible on street corners from New York City to Hawaii.
Many of us throw in loose change, a dollar bill or two, on our way into the grocery or department store. But one person made a surprising anonymous donation that has captured national media attention … and helped proved to millions that the Christmas spirit is, indeed, alive and well. CNN covered the story in the video clip above.

TV Talk: No TNT for Eliza Dushku, No DWTS for Portia DeGeneres
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, Cable, TNT-HD, Dancing With The Stars, News, Ratings,
-Former Dollhouse star Eliza Dushku has already backed out of a pilot for TNT. "Hey guys! News to report~ We have mutually & AMICABLY decided to part ways on Bird Dog due to creative differences. No worries/fears/tears," she wrote on Twitter.
-Portia DeGeneres has officially turned down an opportunity to be on Dancing with the Stars. The actress was reportedly asked to compete with a same-sex partner.
-The season finale of Walking Dead killed in the ratings on Sunday night. The episode -- which attracted 6 million viewers -- had the highest numbers ever for a basic cable series in the 18-49 demo.
-The weekend wasn't so bright for David Hasselhoff. A&E's The Hasselhoffs debuted to 718,000 viewers. In comparison the network's other new program, Storage Wars, recently opened to 2 million viewers.
Sarah Palin’s Alaska is not for the faint of heart. The former(?) politician has already ruffled a few feathers among the animal-loving community for some of the more graphic scenes in her TLC reality show, and now PETA is pretty PO’ed.
Dan Matthews, vice president of PETA, took exception to a recent scene where Sarah Palin killed a caribou on camera. "Sarah seems to think that resorting to violence and blood and guts may lure people into watching her boring show. But the ratings remain as dead as the poor animals she shoots," he said in a recent statement.
But Sarah anticipated as much, firing a few preemptive strikes through social media before the episode even aired. "Tonight's hunting episode 'controversial'?" She asked her Facebook followers. "Really? Unless you've never worn leather shoes, sat upon a leather couch or eaten a piece of meat, save your condemnation of tonight's episode. I remain proudly intolerant of anti-hunting hypocrisy."

Quote of the Day: Modern Family’s Ed O’Neill on Jane Lynch’s Emmy Win
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Award Shows, Comedy, Music, Prime Time, ABC, FOX, Gossip,
UPDATE: It turns out Ed O'Neill was apparently misquoted. You can read the retraction statement here.
“I love Jane, honestly I do. I’m dying to star in one of Christopher Guest’s movies alongside her, but I don’t think she should have gotten the Emmy for that part. [Sue Sylvester] is just a one-note character."
-Modern Family star Ed O'Neill on Jane Lynch's Best Supporting Actress win for her role on Glee. (For the record: Ed was the only adult from his ABC show to not receive an Emmy nomination.)
