New Glimpse of Britney Spears on How I Met Your Mother
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, CBS, Gossip,
Here it is—your first look at Britney Spears’ return to How I Met Your Mother.
Based on this picture alone, I’m guessing that Barney is aiming to sleep with Abby? Yeah, I have no idea where I got that idea from either.
Look for Spears to set another HIMYM ratings high next Monday (May 12).

Adam Jasinski Wins Big Brother 9
Posted by Jacci Lewis Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Cable, CBS, Showtime, Editorial, News,
Adam Jasinski began this season of Big Brother 9 by offending millions of developmentally disabled children and their parents. He ends the season hopefully making good on a promise to donate $100,000 to make their lives better.
Jasinski, an alleged public relations flak for a now defunct Florida-based autism group, won BB9 thanks to a six to one vote by a jury made up of seven of his former house mates. Despite some reservations as to who actually played the better game, he or Ryan… Matt, Natalie, Sharon, James, Chelsia and even scorned ex-partner Sheila voted to give 29-year-old Jasinski the $500,000 grand prize. Only Joshuah threw his support behind Ryan Quicksall, the 27-year-old college student from Ohio. Ryan will take home $50,000, sure to be spent quickly by his annoying girlfriend and ex-house mate Jen.

Survivor Micronesia: I’m Ruthless and Have a Smile on My Face

On this episode of Survivor: Micronesia, the challengers found themselves in a rare situation. For the first time since I can’t remember when, the ladies had a clear advantage over the men. Ozzy’s blindside at the last Tribal Council gave the women a two-person lead.
Were the females able to capitalize on this momentum, or did another idol threaten to ruin their takeover? And what about Amanda? Was she even interested in backstabbing one of her friends (James)? Read on!

Britney Spears Returns to How I Met Your Mother
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, CBS, Editorial, Gossip, Ratings, Renewals,
Even though Sarah Connor has managed to get itself off the renewal bubble, there’s a list of others shows out there still aiming to get their golden tickets.
Believing there’s nothing wrong with a bit of promotional overkill, How I Met Your Mother will be looking to once again milk something out of their celebrity cash cow. (No pun intended.) According to People, a source reports that Britney Spears will indeed make another appearance on the comedy. Her first stint on the CBS series helped give the show its highest ratings ever.
Now if this latest publicity stunt doesn’t get the network to renew HIMYM once and for all, I don’t know what will. Will Jason Segel need to go full frontal? I’ve seen Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I know he’d do it.

More Departures for CSI and Law & Order Franchises
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, CBS, NBC, News,
Earlier this week, we told you CSI‘s Gary Dourdan would soon be saying goodbye to his role as Warrick Brown. Now CBS will be looking to plug another hole in its hit franchise by next year.
According to TV Guide, actress Khandi Alexander is set to place her sunglasses down shortly. Alexander, who has played Alexx Woods since 2002, will be leaving her medical examiner post by the end of CSI: Miami‘s sixth season.
Producers are expected to refill Khandi’s role.
Meanwhile, NBC is also in the middle of its second departure this week. Just days after hearing Diane Neal would be replaced as A.D.A, we learning that Adam Beach will also be departing the Law & Order: SVU family. Since Beach was only contractually obligated for one year, this latest news doesn’t come as a huge surprise. He and the producers mutually agreed not to exercise his second season option.
SVU‘s creators do not plan to find Adam’s replacement.

Survivor Micronesia: I Promise

If there’s anything we’ve learned on Survivor: Micronesia, it’s that words are simply just that: words. They may sound nice, but they mean nothing. The first couple of competitors blindsided this season had to figure that out the hard way.
But after 20+ days on the island, it was apparently some had failed to learn that invaluable lesson. In this episode, we saw shady deals created, old alliances counted on and assumptions made. Who made one of the stupidest deals in show history…and who should have sensed it coming? Read on!

Preview How I Met Your Mother’s New Robin Sparkles Video
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Music, Prime Time, CBS, Gossip, Video,
Although it’s been a while since we’ve seen Robin Sparkles on American television (she was discovered back in November 2006), fans won’t have to wait much longer.
Come April 21, How I Met Your Mother‘s favorite Canadian pop star (a.k.a. Robin’s early years) will be showing us a much softer side. Here’s a preview of her Debbie Gibson-esque ballad “Sandcastles in the Sand.” (Check out the other ‘80s icons in the clip.)
If you haven’t had the chance to experience Robin’s breakout hit, “Let’s Go to the Mall”, you can see that video after the jump. Those wanting even more Sparkle can also learn about the acid wash loving singer through her MySpace page.

Big Brother 9: Batty Natalie Evicted, Ryan is New Head of Household
Posted by Jacci Lewis Categories: Prime Time, Reality, CBS, Editorial, News,
It is time to bid a fond (or totally relieved) farewell to the bikini barista from Salem, Oregon. Natalie is the latest house guest to get the boot on Big Brother 9.
Natalie ended up on the chopping block next to Sharon after Adam inexplicably won the Power of Veto challenge where house guests had to solve a complicated multi-TV, multi-remote challenge. The mushy-mouthed and dim-looking public relations flak solved the puzzle in a mere 3:20 seconds. It took box of rocks Natalie 12:09 seconds (though Sheila was the biggest dolt, it took her more than 15 minutes to get it right).
When the time came to use the POV, obviously Adam saved himself forcing Sheila to put someone else up for eviction. No big surprise here, she chose Natalie. In the end, Ryan voted to evict Natalie saying she is just too good at endurance competitions to safely keep her around. Adam voted to evict Sharon saying she hasn’t done anything good for him in the house. Sheila had to break the tie and, of course, evicted Natalie. The other big headline of the night: Ryan is the new Head of Household.

Big Brother 9 Update: James Out, Sharon and Adam Up for Eviction
Posted by Jacci Lewis Categories: Prime Time, Reality, CBS, Editorial, News,
I’ve really been slacking off on my Big Brother 9 recaps. It’s not that I am not watching. Oh, I watch but then can’t muster up enough energy to write something interesting about the show because, well, it hasn’t been that interesting.
The main headlines of the past few episodes are that Crazy James finally spent life number 9 in the house and Sharon and Adam are now nominated for eviction. James was evicted by a unanimous vote but not before trying to turn everyone against each other and even getting in a few jabs about Natalie’s weight gain in the BB9 house since Matt left.
It was all to no avail. The whole smelly (I imagine) cropped stretch pant or bikini underwear look and holier-and-deeper-than-thou attitude finally got the best of the homeless biker from Florida and his house mates gladly gave him the boot.
