McCain Finally Planning His Letterman Appearance
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Late Night, Talk Shows, CBS, Gossip,
It’s now time for John McCain to sit down and face the music.
Three weeks after famously snubbing David Letterman for an interview with Katie Couric, the Republican presidential candidate will finally attempt to make amends. Assuming he doesn’t need to tend to another “emergency” in Washington, McCain will be seated next to Dave later this week.
The Arizona senator was originally scheduled to appear on the late night program back on September 24, right before the first presidential debate. Unfortunately, McCain canceled his engagement because he was supposedly working on the economic crisis. When Letterman eventually found out the truth, he bitterly expressed his thoughts for days to come.

Shows Planning a Return in 2009
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, ABC, Bravo, CBS, FX, HBO, Entourage, Renewals,
While it’s probably be safe to assume that Fringe and 90210 would both be handed 2009 renewal notices - especially since they’ve already been given full season orders - this television season is still far too young.
Here is, though, what we do know already about next year’s programming calendar:
- Big Brother (CBS) - Season 11
- Entourage (HBO) - Season 6
- Flashpoint (CBS) - Season 2
- Here Come the Newlyweds (ABC) - Season 2
- Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List (Bravo) - Season 5
- My Boys (TBS) - Season 3
- Sons of Anarchy (FX) - Season 2
- True Blood (HBO) - Season 2
Get to Know the Cast of Survivor: Gabon
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, CBS, Survivor, Features, Video,
With the premiere now just days away, it’s time to familiarize ourselves with the next round of Survivor castaways.
For the program’s 17th installment, the reality show will be kicking things up a notch. This season, the contestants will be “battling extreme conditions and interacting with wildlife such as elephants and gorillas” during their stay in Gabon. The filthy castaways will also have all of their flaws exposed in high-definition. (That’s a first for the long-running series.)
Host Jeff Probst says the African locale is the perfect setting for the contest we will be seeing this year. “In a strange coincidence to Earth’s Last Eden—good vs. evil emerges as a major theme this season. I think the audience will quickly identify with one group or the other.”

Randomly Commenting About: Miley Cyrus’ Cancer Event Performance
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Music, Prime Time, Specials, ABC, CBS, NBC, Editorial, Video,
Even though I really like the single (and loved the cause for which it was written), there was one musician who really stuck out during Friday night’s Stand Up 2 Cancer event: Miley Cyrus.
The song - which is available for purchase on iTunes - was performed live this weekend from New York’s Radio City Music Hall. And while “Just Stand Up” earned a nice reception, I couldn’t help but notice how Miley Cyrus’ immature voice stuck out like a grating sore thumb. Did she really deserve to be up on the same stage as Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey and Carrie Underwood? Ehh, I think not.
CBS Reveals Cast of Amazing Race 13
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, CBS, Amazing Race, The, Features, News,
For The Amazing Race‘s next season, CBS will be taking viewers on a whole new set of adventures. Adventures not yet seen even after 12 installments of the Emmy-award winning series.
Although we’ll still get what we have come to know and love - 11 teams, five continents, 30,000 miles of travel - the producers of the reality hit promise us that Season 13 will be like no other.
Where can we expect Phil Keoghan to take us this year? After starting in Los Angeles, the duos will travel to Brazil, Bolivia, Russia and India. The crews will also hit Cambodia (where they visit a “real-life water world”) and Kazakhstan for the very first time.

Sara Gilbert Becomes a Big Bang Theory Regular
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, CBS, News,
Good news, Roseanne fans. Sara Gilbert will be returning to The Big Bang Theory next year.
Gilbert, who was married to Galecki on the hit ABC series, reignited sparks with former co-star when she guested last season. Sara played Leslie Winkle, a love interest of Leonard’s on the CBS comedy.
Although watchers were only teased with a three-episode stint last year, Gilbert will now become a permanent fixture of the show.
See if their relationship evolves into Darlene and David 2.0 when Big Bang premieres on September 22.

Laurence Fishburne In Talks to Join CSI
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, CBS, Gossip, News,
UPDATE: Fishburne has been confirmed for the new season.
As previously announced, CBS’ top-rated show will be facing another major departure next season. Now it’s up to the network to find someone capable of maintaining the show’s ratings record.
Cue Laurence Fishburne. The Matrix star is reportedly close to becoming the latest cast member of CSI. The actor, who would help to fill the void William Petersen eventually creates, is set to play an doctor/scientist with an interesting genetic background. Although he has the makeup of a serial killer, he has yet to act on any of his impulses. (I wonder if that’s something he mentions in his resume.)
John Malkovich and Kurt Russell were other names previously mentioned as possibles.
CSI‘s 9th season begins October 9.

Big Brother Competitors Feel Earthquake
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, CBS, News, Video,
Although CBS likes to isolate the Big Brother competitors from the real world, the network can’t keep them from experiencing a natural disaster.
In this clip, you can see how the houseguests reacted during yesterday’s California earthquake. After watching the video, try to correctly guess how many times the phrase ‘Omigawd’ was used. Also, do your best to figure out why removal of clothing was deemed necessary.
How I Met Your Mother Publishes The Bro Code
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, CBS, Gossip, News,
Forget Robin Sparkles videos. The creators of How I Met Your Mother will soon be putting out something far more culturally significant: The Bro Code.
Those who followed Season 3 remember The Bro Code was something Barney Stimson (Neil Patrick Harris) violated when he ended up sleeping with Ted’s ex. Hoping to repair the relationship with his “bro”, Barney seeks Marshall’s legal help.
In the episode, we learned more about Stimson’s “list of Dos and Don’ts for all bros.” (You can see that clip from “The Goat” after the jump.) Articles in the book - which supposedly originated from a conversation between George Washington and Benjamin Franklin - include:
Article #1: Bros before Hos.
Article #34: Bros can not make eye contact during a ‘Devil’s Three-Way.’ (Two dudes.)
Article #89: The mom of a bro is always off-limits but the stepmom of a bro is fair game if she initiates it and/or is wearing at least one article of leopard print clothing.

Big Brother 10: Brian Evicted/Jessie is New HOH
Posted by Jacci Lewis Categories: Prime Time, Reality, CBS, Editorial, Gossip, News,
He flew too close to the sun and got burned. Brian, the former Air Force crew chief from San Francisco, talked himself right out of the Big Brother 10 house. He wasn’t even nominated originally.
Jerry, the Head of Household, put Renny and Jessie up for nomination, but Jessie won the Power of Veto. This coincided with increasing suspicion of Brian’s attempts to control other house guests and tell them how to vote. At one point, Brian suggested he was “pulling all the strings” in the house. He’d originally formed an alliance with Dan and Ollie. But Ollie has formed a stronger alliance (like the physical kind) with April and April didn’t like Brian so Ollie turned on him.
