Criss Angel Performs Live on A&E

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Specials, Cable, Video,
As David Blaine has proven over and over again, there’s nothing audiences love more than a live stunt.
Later this month, A&E’s Criss Angel will perform his own death-defying trick before a live television audience. In the one-hour event, Angel will be chained inside a 6-story office building that is set to implode. His goal is to reach the roof where an awaiting helicopter will take him to safety. Will the illusionist ever be able to walk around shirtless again? Oh the nail-biting drama!
That upcoming spectacle will be just a small part of Criss Angel: Mindfreak‘s fourth season. In total, the series will air 15 new episodes and 3 one-hour specials in this next round.
Mindfreak debuts July 23 @ 10pm. See a sneak preview of what’s to come after the jump.

Big Brother 10 Cast Revealed

Posted by Jacci Lewis Categories: Prime Time, Reality, CBS, Editorial, Gossip, News, Video,
“Somebody for everyone.” That’s how executive producer Allison Grodner describes the cast of CBS’ Big Brother 10.
After a slide in ratings in the past few installments of the long-running reality show, Big Brother is returning to its roots of throwing actual strangers from all walks of life into one pretend house. This time around producers assure viewers there will be no ex-lovers, no secret father-daughter pairs or long-lost siblings. This is the first time house guests have been true strangers since the third season. (You can see a video clip with the latest contestants after the jump.)
Other than that though, the premise is the same. 13 people try to lie, cheat and steal their way to the $500,000 prize while their every move is monitored by 50 cameras for three months. The producers insist there will be twists, but past relationships aren’t among them.

Jessica Simpsons’ Live Country Performance on The View

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Daytime, Music, Talk Shows, ABC, Gossip, Video,
When I first heard Jessica Simpson’s newest single back in May, I said the singer should probably stick with country music. (When compared to the fluff she had been attempting before, it really seems to be the style best suited for her.)
Now after seeing her perform ‘Come On Over’ live on The View (you can watch that clip after the jump), I would like to offer Simpson just one more piece of advice: don’t ever let people see you sing.
One of the many things that has always bothered me about Jessica - aside from her love of the Dallas Cowboys - is her freaky facial distortions. Sadly, I’ve discovered her painful expressions (and general inability to move) will accompany her regardless of the genre she’s working in.

Fox Hypes Up Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Action, Drama, Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, FOX, 24, Announcements, Internet, News, Video,

Feeling quite guilty that I haven’t come across the Dollhouse trailer until now, I felt like I should make up for it by doing Fox a favor and spreading the love!
The trailer for this fall’s sci-fi drama (which you can check out after the jump) has been out and about on YouTube and select TV spots, getting many pretty excited about its premiere. After all, it is Joss Whedon’s first series since Firefly, which went off the air back in 2003 (surprisingly with the same network his new show is on).
Dollhouse, starring former Buffy the Vampire Slayer (BTVS) favorite Eliza Dushku, focuses on a clandestine, illegal operation carried out by agents who have their memories and personalities completely erased after each mission. Dushku plays Echo, one operative who slowly starts to learn more and more about where she works over time—she becomes a known flaw in the system, if you will.
The series premieres in January on Fox, right before 24 in the Monday 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT spot.

Preview the Nasty Tension on The Two Coreys

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Cable, Video,
Last summer on The Two Coreys, the series hit a painfully awkward note when the subject of The Lost Boys came up. Corey Feldman had to let Corey Haim know that a sequel to the vampire flick was going to be made without him. (Since that announcement, things have changed.)
Come this weekend, Season 2 will once again reach some very dramatic moments. In the clip below, the friends (?) have a very heated confrontation about some deep dark secrets from their past.
If you want to see how this whole thing plays out, tune in this Sunday night @ 10pm on A&E. In the meantime, relive the moment when Haim finds out about Lost Boys 2 after the jump.

David Cook Tackles the National Anthem

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Sports, ABC, FOX, American Idol, Video,
Despite weekly American Idol performances - and a revealing Guitar Hero commercial - nothing could apparently prepare David Cook for the challenge he tackled last night.
Idol‘s Season 7 champion said singing the national anthem before yesterday’s NBA game made him far more uneasy than any of his competition numbers.
“It’s the one song you don’t want to mess up. I’m going to try not to notice Jack Nicholson sitting in the front row and think about the lyrics.”

If Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough Were Still On DWTS

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, ABC, Dancing With The Stars, Gossip, Video,

Hoping to drag out their
fifteen minutes of fame as long as possible, Dancing with the Stars’ Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough decided to take their partnership to YouTube. Although the real-life couple was booted off the ABC series in Week 7, the two have not yet stopped dancing. In fact, the lovebirds apparently still think about what could have been.
In a 6.5-minute clip (which can be seen after the jump), the former dance partners deliver a dream-like version of the Foxtrot they never had a chance to perform. They also attempt to poke fun at themselves while spending a nauseating amount of time in each other’s arms.
