Steven Tyler thinks Mariah Carey's bitter American Idol feud with Nicki Minaj is a publicity stunt.
The Aerosmith star - who announced he was leaving the reality show in July after a successful two season run on the judging panel - believes producers have orchestrated the women's outspoken rivalry to boost ratings. The "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" singer told TMZ, "Of course, are you kidding" when asked if he thought their furious bust-up was designed to generate more publicity.
Filming of the new series was called to a halt earlier this week after the judges' disagreement over a contestant turned into a bitter screaming match as Nicki hurled insults at Mariah, calling her "boring as f**k" and threatening "off with your head!"
The "Starships" rapper has continued to blast Mariah on her Twitter page. But American Idol producers have insisted the show must go on despite the tension and pledged their support for the entire judging panel.

Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj have called a truce.
The American Idols judges - who were involved in an explosive argument on Monday during which the "Starships" rapper screamed violent insults at Mariah because she made her feel "inadequate" during the auditions round of the competition - are said to have buried the hatchet.
The chart rivals were reportedly civil and professional throughout yesterday's auditions for the reality TV singing competition in Charlotte, North Carolina, according to US gossip website TMZ. A source told the site that everyone working on the popular series was "shocked" and "embarrassed" by the outburst, which hit the internet after being caught on camera.

L.A. Reid: ‘Britney Would Have Been a Successful X Factor Contestant’
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, Gossip,
L.A. Reid thinks that Britney Spears would have been a successful X Factor contestant.
The "Toxic" singer and "Skyscraper" hitmaker Demi Lovato both joined the judging panel of the show this year, but L.A. believes they would have had no problems competing if they were just starting out because they are both talented and hard workers.
"I think that both Britney and Demi would've been able to handle it. These girls are really talented and they were trained to work hard. They didn't become a success because they were slackers. Both of them worked really, really hard coming up the ranks."
L.A. also claimed he would win if he auditioned because he does such a good rendition of Prince's "When Doves Cry."
He explained, "If it was me, very simple. I would go up and I would sing 'When Doves Cry' by Prince. And I would win. By the way, I would sing it in Boot Camp and would sing it in the finals and I would win. I'd be a one-trick pony and would only do one song, 'When Doves Cry.'"

Giuliana Rancic will broadcast the birth of her baby boy on her reality show.
The E! News anchor and her husband Bill Rancic welcomed their first child, Edward Duke Rancic, into the world via gestational surrogate last month in Denver, Colorado, and the brunette beauty has decided to share his intimate arrival on the new season of their reality show Giuliana and Bill.
"This is our sixth season and people have followed our story for years. To have people praying for you and supporting you and wanting the best for you and wanting you to have this baby so badly, and then to say, 'Thanks for all your prayers, thanks for your support, we're not showing the baby.' That's wrong," she said.
The couple originally said they wanted his birth to be private but have now decided to follow in the footsteps of Kourtney Kardashian by including their home video camera footage of his birth in their show.

Simon Cowell's TV show with Jada Pinkett-Smith has been axed.
The music mogul was set to work with the Hollywood actress and her husband Will Smith in a search for the world's greatest DJ, but the project was ditched after Simon demanded top billing and Jada's production company Overbrook Entertainment refused.
"It's not happening anymore because of Simon," a source told Page Six.
Another insider added, "There were some deal points that couldn't be worked out, and Sony [Pictures Television] and Overbrook walked away."
A representative for Simon's company Syco confirmed the show will not be going ahead, saying, "Syco and Overbrook decided not to proceed together on a DJ-competition show."

Nicki Minaj to Star in Reality Show

Nicki Minaj is to star in her own reality TV show.
The "Starships" hitmaker - who was recently unveiled as a judge on American Idol - is said to have begun filming a fly-on-the-wall documentary series for the E! network earlier this week, gossip blogger Perez Hilton has revealed.
Insiders are convinced the eccentric singer will make for great viewing. "Nicki's life on camera will blow away all other previous reality stars," one insider said.
There's no word yet as to when the series is expected to air.
Nicki recently revealed she agreed to judge American Idol because it is such a "credible" show: "This is such a credible brand. It's really serious, it's real deal it's not anything else other than really looking for talent. If I can be a part of that I'm really down for it."

One Direction Too Inexperienced to Judge X Factor
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, Gossip,
One Direction still sees themselves as newcomers.
The global chart-toppers - who earned $160 million in the two years since they competed on The X Factor - have reportedly declined an offer by boss Simon Cowell to mentor contestants on the show because they are too inexperienced.
"We don't feel like we are in a position to be giving strong advice," Louis Tomlinson told The Sun.
The group's mentor Simon is said to have been hoping the boy band would guest star in an episode of the UK reality TV series and conduct a master class with the current group of wannabe stars to help boost the show's ratings.

Usher Excited About The Voice

Usher can't wait to "nourish talent" on The Voice.
The "OMG" hitmaker and Shakira will join the panel of the singing competition next season as replacements for Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green and Usher - who famously mentored Justin Bieber - is excited about discovering new stars and guiding their careers.
"This is an opportunity for me to allow [audiences] into the world and into that process of [artist development]... it kind of gives credence to what artist development is truly all about and [The Voice]. I think, is really sustaining the artists of the future. The point is, being a part of The Voice gives me that opportunity to not only spot talent but nourish it and also allow the world to be a part of that process."
Usher is also excited that the competition isn't concerned with how its contestants look but instead judges them on their talent. "The cool part about The Voice is that it starts with the voice and obviously it's going to end with the voice. If you make an incredible record, it lasts forever," he added.

L.A. Reid: Britney Spears is Like Marilyn Monroe
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, Gossip,
Britney Spears has been compared to Marilyn Monroe.
The reaction fans give when they see the pop singer has stunned her fellow X Factor judge L.A. Reid, who claims his co-star has the same mystique as the late icon.
"People go crazy for Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z. I've seen them go crazy for Rihanna. But this? Britney has the same magic that made Marilyn Monroe famous, that intangible ability to be completely loved and for people to be completely consumed by her everything," Reid said.
However, Britney insists the idea of being an icon "freaks" her out: "I try not to think about that. It's just - that's an overwhelming thing to think about. And I still feel new and fresh at the whole game. And when people say they know me, it still freaks me out. Still. To this day."
X Factor boss Simon Cowell, who recruited Britney to the show, revealed he was shocked by how shy she is in person. "She's one of the most humble people. I was raving about a song she'd written and she got really uncomfortable and it's not an act. It's partly down to her shyness. I didn't realize it until I started to work with her. We all remember her [performance at the MTV awards] with that snake around her neck and think, 'She can't be shy.' But she is."
