On Gear Live: 2024 Nissan Z Nismo Review

Scoop! The Food Network has teamed with Haagen-Daz to bring us a two-hour special called Scoop! The special will focus on five contestants competiting to create a new ice cream flavor.

The suggested flavors from the ten semi-finalists included such original combinations as caramelized figs and walnut, mocha malt crunch, caramelized apple crisp, strawberry mocha supreme, pumpkinlicious, cannoli, sticky toffee pudding, toasted coconut, peach amaretto praline, and chocolate chipotle. I can’t wait to see (and then taste!) the winning flavor.

Jim O’Connor of the Food Network’s The Secret Life of… will host the special, which airs July 15. The limited-edition flavor will be sold nationwide by Haagen-Daz July 16.

Brian HeidikThe winner of Survivor: Thailand (2002), Brian Heidik, was arrested for allegedly shooting a puppy. Yes, that’s right. He shot a puppy.

Apparently, Heidik shot the dog with an arrow in his own backyard late last night, in what he claims was an attempt to protect his own dogs from a “coyote”. (By “coyote”, he of course must mean “cute little defenseless puppy”). The crime was reported by Heidik’s wife, who told police that her husband had shot a puppy and planned to shoot another one.

Heidik tried to flee the scene, but was apprehended by police and charged with battery and cruelty to animals.

The former used-car salesman and soft-core porn actor has seen his share of drama over the years. In 2002, the same year that he won the one million dollar prize on Survivor‘s fifth season, Heidik charged his wife with domestic abuse. His wife, Charmaine Heidik - also known as adult actress C.C. Costigan - was arrested for spousal battery after allegedly punching her husband in the nose.

Heidik so far has surivived the cut-throat reality series and being beat up by his porn star wife, but it will probably be hard to overcome the stigma of attempting to kill a puppy. Hopefully the wounded puppy will end up a survivor.

Big Brother All-Stars Well, “leak” may sound a bit strange, but actually…Reality Blurred reported that the Big Brother live audio feed was accidentally open for an hour on Tuesday, thus revealing to listeners the 14 houseguests prior to the big reveal on Thursday’s show. Apparently, the houseguests are in the house before the season starts so they can begin editing the first few episodes, but the live feed is a big slip. This season’s twist was also revealed, so looks like all of the juicy info has not been effectively kept under lock and key. No matter—from the houseguests listed, it should be an interesting mix. Fourteen were chosen, which is a small twist in itself, as it was announced that only 12 would be selected. So, who are the chosen ones? Visit the Forum section for more details, or post your comments and we’ll discuss.

My Fair BradyI have not been following My Fair Brady: We’re Getting Married on VH1. The reality show stars America’s Next Top Model‘s first winner, Adrianne Curry, and the man who will forever be referred to as “Peter Brady”, Christopher Knight.

I will admit that I followed their romance through its beginning stages on The Surreal Life 4 and then through the first season of My Fair Brady. I watched Curry struggle to convince Knight to marry her and his bittersweet proposal.

Now that they are officially engaged and continuing to whore themselves on reality TV, I can’t help but feel somewhat sickened by it all. It is sometimes painful to watch, hence the reason why I haven’t been watching regularly.

This season has so far shown the couple clashing over many issues, such as whether or not Knight, 48, should get a vasectomy (Curry, 23, was strongly against it).

Many of their friends and family - including Knight’s sister, who disapproves of Curry’s nude modeling, and former Surreal Life roommate, Chyna Doll - think that the couple are making a mistake jumping into marriage. I suppose VH1 would like us to view them as a pair of star-crossed lovers, the likes of Romeo and Juliet (minus the suicides), but I’m having trouble finding any redeeming qualities to their relationship.

The episode in which they go to couples therapy was sickening. It was the first time that I saw Curry as the mature member of the relationship, which at half Knight’s age is kind of sad. When their counselor, Dr. Pam, suggested perhaps that he is at the root of their communication issues, he turned into “my fair baby”. It has been quite a while since I watched a grown man pout. Apparently, no one has ever told Knight that he was wrong - about anything - ever in his entire life. Or at least that’s what he’d like you to believe.

First he was ready to pack it all up and go home without finishing the therapy session; later he spiraled downward into a guilt-induced depression. Anyone who ever doubted Knight’s acting abilities while on The Brady Bunch can see that he certainly can act. It takes quite a skilled actor to turn the tables around and get Curry comforting and feeling sorry for him! You don’t listen to your fiance and you condescend to her… poor poor you!

I supposed stuff like this makes for good television, but I can’t imagine it will make a good marriage. Unfortunately there will be none of the “will they or won’t they” suspense from last episode. Knight and Curry were married on May 29;  the wedding episode will air Sunday, July 23.

This week has two biggies:

First, beginning Wednesday, July 5th, the American Idol Top 10 will start their American Idols Live tour. The 60-day tour will begin in Manchester, New Hampshire and end in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on September 24th. Now’s your time to catch Ace Young’s wicked falsetto again. Of course, I bet the big draw will be Chris Daughtry—the biggest upset of the Idol season.

Second, it’s almost time for the Emmy nominations! On Thursday, July 6th, at 5:39 AM (huh? why not 5:40?), Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Garrett will announce the Emmy noms. We’ll have a rundown of the categories here, so check back for details.

Fear FactorUniversal Studios Home Entertainment has finally released the first season of Fear Factor on DVD. The show focuses on contestants facing their biggest fears for a cash prize (that is, if their biggest fears included eating gross fare such as worms and beetles).

Other challenges include being catapulted over 100 feet in the air, eating bull testicals, laying down in a snake pit, and “resucing” a fake baby from an underwater car. The winner received a prize of $50,000.

The two-disc collection contains the first nine episodes, as well as a preview of Season Two.

Nick and JessicaJessica Simpson and Nick Lachey signed their divorce papers this Friday, officially ending their three-year marriage.

Simpson, 25, and Lachey, 32, were apparently so anxious to dissolve the marriage, that they asked that their marital status be bifurcated. In a bifurcation, the judge will divide two issues so that one may be ruled upon before hearing evidence on the other. In this case, that meant that their divorce could be granted prior to ruling on the division of assets. The couple - who starred in their own MTV reality series Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica - have agreed to work out those details at a later date.

Since they announced their separation in November 2005, Lachey has been linked romantically to Kristin Cavallari of Laguna Beach, singer Natasha Bedingfield, designer Kim Kardashian (daughter of O.J. Simpson attorney, the late Robert Kardashian), and two former beauty queens, Elizabeth Arnold (Miss Kentucky USA, 2002) and Vanessa Minnillo (Miss Teen USA 1998).

Simpson, on the other hand, is rumored to have dated Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine, actor Jared Leto, Trace Ayala (famous merely for being a “friend of Justin Timberlake”), and Dane Cook, her co-star in the upcoming film Employee of the Month.

I guess we can assume MTV won’t be creating Divorced: Nick and Jessica anytime soon.

david_hasselhoffWell, sort of. The story goes that he was shaving in a bathroom at a gym in London when he bumped into a chandelier – sending broken glass flying and ultimately severing a tendon. Oopsy! Hasselhoff, a judge on America’s Got Talent, had to undergo surgery for the injury and was released the next day. Talk about your freak accidents – what are the chances there would be a chandelier in a gym bathroom? Maybe not the case, as other reports tell a different tale involving a glass shelf that he hit after he bent down and stood back up.
