Mel B Joining ‘America’s Got Talent’

Mel B is replacing Sharon Osbourne on America's Got Talent.
The 37-year-old former Spice Girl - who previously worked on Australian X Factor - has reportedly signed a deal to join the judging panel for the NBC ahead of the start of its auditions in Los Angeles next month, after winning over the show's boss Simon Cowell.
"Simon loves trying people out on his shows, Mel's already been a judge on X Factor Australia and it's too far for her to keep taking the kids. She did want to do X Factor UK, but Simon really wanted her to do America's Got Talent. She's outspoken and never afraid to speak her mind, she makes for good TV. NBC execs will be watching through their eyes - let's hope they won't be using the delay button on live TV," a source said.
The mother-of-three is expected to join Howard Stern and Howie Mandel on the live TV show.

Tina Fey Hopes for Drunk Celebrities

Tina Fey hopes the celebrities at the Golden Globe Awards get drunk and embarrass themselves.
The 30 Rock star will co-host the ceremony with her friend Amy Poehler, but the duo believe alcohol will help make the night more entertaining and are hoping those attending will drink lots.
"Because it's such a fun kind of sloppy night, it's not really about the host giving any kind of big comedy performance. It's our job to keep things moving and also try to get the movie stars more liquored-up so that hopefully someone's boob will fall out of a dress. That's our main role. The luckiest we could get would be for something interesting and spontaneous to happen. We have a lot of spontaneous things planned," Tina said.
However, Parks and Recreation star Amy joked she is going on a pub-crawl before the ceremony on Sunday: "I'm going to pub-crawl it all the way to the venue and then try to take a two-hour blackout nap before we start, and then as soon as the show is over, I'm going to go on a 10-day juice cleanse."

Adam Levine will make his Saturday Night Live hosting debut on January 26.
While the Voice judge and Maroon 5 frontman will host for the first time ever in the episode which will feature musical guest Kendrick Lamar, he has previously appeared in a digital short on the comedy sketch show with Andy Samberg and Fred Armisen.
Adam's appearance will take place once week after Silver Linings Playbook star Jennifer Lawrence makes her SNL debut on January 19 with a performance from The Lumineers.
Adam recently revealed he will miss Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green on The Voice as they take a season off to focus on their respective music careers but admitted he is excited about their replacements Usher and Shakira: "Christina and Cee Lo are so close to my heart because we went through the show becoming a success together and Usher and Shakira are coming into it as a big institution. So it's different but it still feels good because they are legitimate artists. I knew Usher before. We've worked in the studio a couple of times together. Shakira is a new friend but I love her dearly already. She's so sweet and adorable and hilarious."

Ricky Martin has no plans to reveal his nasty side on The Voice Australia.
The "Livin' La Vida Loca" singer - who is set to finish his stint performing in Evita on Broadway on January 26 - has signed on to judge the second series of the show but the Grammy winner said he won't be the show's version of Simon Cowell.
The 40-year-old star told the Huffington Post, "I don't believe in tough love. I believe in love, and I believe in being nurturing to new talented men and women."
Ricky is heavily involved in the development of a new dramedy series tackling social issues with a sense of humor for NBC that he will produce, write and star in. The series is expected to hit screens next year.
"It's about growing. It's a moment in my life where I just need to absorb and be surrounded by amazing actors and musicians and grow as an entertainer. I think this is going to be an amazing year for that," he said.

Dolly Parton: “I Turned Down X Factor”
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, NBC, American Idol, Gossip,
Dolly Parton has turned down American Idol and The X Factor. The legendary singer was approached to join both shows as a judge over the years but admitted the only TV talent search she would ever consider appearing on is The Voice because it is more nurturing to its contestants.
"I've been asked to do American Idol and The X Factor almost every time there's a new season. [On The Voice] you don't have to judge that much and I hesitate to judge people," she said.
Dolly previously revealed she will always be grateful to Whitney Houston for making her song "I Will Always Love You" famous and credits her friends and God with preventing her from going down the same road as the tragic singer, who drowned following an accidental overdose in a hotel bathtub in February: "I thank God every day for that song - and Whitney made it popular worldwide. It's a very simple song, really, as simple as anything I've ever written. I've always had good and close friends, and a spiritual faith. God will take the wrong people and things out, and teach me to have the right people and the right things. Some people don't have that, and that's where it can go wrong."

New NBC Period Drama for Julian Fellowes
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Drama, Prime Time, NBC, Announcements, News,
Julian Fellowes is developing a period drama for NBC. The Downton Abbey creator's show The Gilded Age - which follows the rich and powerful inhabitants of New York in the 1880s - has been described by the channel as "an epic tale of the princes of the American Renaissance, and the vast fortunes they made - and spent."
Julian - who will write and produce The Gilded Age - told TVLine, "This was a vivid time with dizzying, brilliant ascents and calamitous falls, of record-breaking ostentation and savage rivalry; a time when money was king."
News of the show comes not long after rival channel ABC declined to pick up Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes' similar drama pilot Gilded Lilys.
Julian will be kept busy as Downton Abbey was recently commissioned for a fourth season with Gareth Neame, Managing Director of Carnival Films, the show's makers crediting him for its success: "Not only is he a superb craftsman, he also has an extraordinary work ethic. It is a mammoth undertaking to write all those episodes.
