Emma Stone Pokes Fun at Her Nerd-Friendly Image

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Late Night, NBC, Saturday Night Live, Video,
Emma Stone, or “that cute redhead the nerds like," offered up a low-key but solid Saturday Night Live performance over the weekend. Stone has been seen in Superbad, Zombieland and Easy A -- as her monologue pointed out -- and will play Spider-Man’s love interest in the upcoming reboot.
Stone, 21, handled the gig like a pro, effortlessly breezing through a monologue that helped her poke fun at her image as a nerd idol. Stone delivered both deadpan and quirky comedy, receiving strong support from the SNL cast throughout the episode.
View the entire monologue, one of the high points of the episode, in the clip above.

Denzel Washington, Mark Zuckerberg Get SNL Treatment

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Late Night, NBC, Saturday Night Live, Video,
SNL‘s Andy Samberg channeled his inner geek to spoof Mark Zuckerberg Saturday night. Samberg delivered jokes about youth culture and Facebook, the central theme of the hit movie The Social Network.
Samberg’s wasn’t the only impersonation of the night (it would hardly be SNL without several to choose from). A new cast member offered up an impression that was so spot-on, the audience didn’t know whether to laugh or just stare in awe. Follow the jump to view the video.

Everyone expected the Jane Lynch episode of SNL to be hilariously funny, and somehow she managed to exceed all hopes.
From her singing monologue to her singing football skit, Lynch was one of the best hosts in SNL history … and yes, she spent some time delivering funny one-liners, too. View the video above to watch Lynch’s monologue, wherein she sings a new theme song for Glee.

VIDEO: Steve Carell Does Law & Order

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, NBC, The Office, Video,
If you rely on TiVo to record episodes of The Office (and not Outsourced) like I do, you may have missed this extra nugget as well.
At the very end of the recent episode, viewers got a chance to see the Law & Order material Michael Scott (Steve Carell) used for a Sweeney Todd audition.
Let’s just say Johnny Depp won’t need to worry about the competition anytime soon.

Production Shut Down on NBC’s Outlaw

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, NBC, Ratings,

UPDATE: The show has been officially pulled from the Friday schedule. Remaining episodes will air Saturdays @ 8 PM.
Looks like Outlaw is running out of luck.
Late this week, NBC came just shy of canceling the freshman series altogether. The program – starring Jimmy Smits – was placed on production hiatus after three nights’ worth of dismal numbers.
That decision was made before the program’s latest outing – which earned in 4.2 million viewers and a 1.0/3 in the 18-49 demo. Should the network continue to air the finished episodes, we could still see four more weeks of the show.
