Yes, yes - you heard me right: NBC showed signs of life yesterday. But let’s not get too excited now. It’s not like the network won anything. (The Peacock was still in fourth place.) It just didn’t suck as badly as it has been.
8pm
- Dancing with the Stars (19.1 million, 4.4/12 in 1849) stumbled by 500,000.
- House (11.8 million, 4.5/12) was down 1.2 million.
- The Big Bang Theory (10.1 million, 3.8/11) added on 1.2 million; How I Met Your Mother (9.6 million, 4.0/11) picked up 1.1 million.
- Chuck (6.2 million, 2.3/6) was up 200,000.
- Gossip Girl* (0.4/1) sat quietly in back with 990,000.

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, Sports, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, 24, Dancing With The Stars, Heroes, House, Medium, Ratings,
Yesterday’s premiere of Surviving Suburbia did well despite NCAA competition. The program had the best numbers for a comedy debut since the opener of Samantha Who? in October 2007. (A Dancing with the Stars lead-in being the common denominator.)
8pm
- Dancing with the Stars (19.6 million, 4.5/11 in 18-49) was down by 600,000.
- Approximately 13 million watched the shocker on House (5.0/13).
- The Big Bang Theory* (8.9 million, 3.2/9) gave up 900,000; How I Met Your Mother* (8.5 million, 3.3/9) lost 700,000.
- Chuck (6 million, 2.1/6) picked up 400,000.
- Gossip Girl* (1.1 million, 0.5/1) shrunk by 1.4 million.

Monday Ratings: FOX and ABC Divide the Night
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, 24, Dancing With The Stars, Heroes, House, Medium, Ratings,
Despite all the 10’s issued on Dancing with the Stars last night, ABC narrowly lost the demos to FOX yesterday. Hot ballroom action did stir up the evening’s biggest audience though.
8pm
- Dancing with the Stars (20.2 million, 4.8/12 in 18-49) was even with last week.
- House (4.7/13) turned in 12.2 million.
- The Big Bang Theory (3.8/11) roped in 9.8 million; How I Met Your Mother (9.2 million, 3.9/10) improved by 1.8 million.
- Chuck (5.6 million, 2.0/6) slipped by 500,000.
- Gossip Girl (2.5 million, 1.2/3) rose by 300,000.

Tuesday Ratings: Reaper Reaps the Benefits
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, Specials, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, Dancing With The Stars, House, Ratings,
Yesterday’s Obama presser may have been a nuisance for some networks, but it worked out well for one. Those not interested in another news conference brought Reaper to season-high numbers. Meanwhile, the back half of the evening was owned by CBS.
8pm
- Approximately 9.9 million (2.0/6) in 18-49) watched President Barack Obama on CBS.
- ABC saw 8.7 million (2.0/6) tune in for their coverage.
- NBC (2.2/6) chalked up 8.3 million for their broadcast.
- FOX (1.6/5) pulled in 4.3 million for its newser.
- Reaper (2.7 million, 1.1/3) rose by 800,000.

Monday Ratings: New Lows for Heroes, Medium
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, 24, Dancing With The Stars, Heroes, House, Medium, Ratings,
If you thought a repeat of Two and a Half Men might help Heroes’ chances, you were wrong. Last night, the wilting NBC program once again saw its smallest audience to date. That poor performance led into a series low for Medium as well.
8pm
- Dancing with the Stars (20.2 million, 4.9/13 in 18-49) stumbled by 900,000.
- House* (7.7 million, 2.6/7) sent 5.1 million home.
- A How I Met Your Mother original (7.4 million, 2.9/8) didn’t do as well as The Big Bang Theory; a HIMYM repeat (2.6/7) turned in 6.9 million.
- Chuck (2.1/6) registered 6.1 million.
- Gossip Girl (2.2 million, 1.0/3) remained steady.

Monday Ratings: Castle Has Strong Second Outing

While it’s doubtful Castle would be able to do this well without DWTS’ support, the series did show promise in its second week. The Nathan Fillion vehicle joined forces with the ballroom hit to give ABC another double win last night.
8pm
- Dancing with the Stars (21.1 million, 5.3/14 in 18-49) slipped by 1.4 million.
- House (12.8 million, 4.8/13) checked in 700,000 more.
- The Big Bang Theory (9.8 million, 3.7/11) was up 300,000; How I Met Your Mother (9.2 million, 3.8/10) grew by 700,000.
- Chuck* (3.9 million, 1.3/4) dropped 1.8 million.
- Gossip Girl (1.1/3) returned to 2.2 million.

MONDAY 3/16)
- House (FOX, 8pm): “A nursing home worker is alarmed when the home’s cat curls up next to her. It seems the cat only cuddles up to people who are going to die soon.” That’s what felines call “grooming their victims.”
- Castle (ABC, 10pm): “Castle and Beckett discover a young nanny dead inside a laundry room dryer, and their investigation leads to a dangerous world of play dates.” The pursuit for the perfect Hide-and-Seek spot can get quite nasty.
- For the Love of Ray J (VH1, 10pm): “A pool date with two contesants turns steamy.” Thanks to Jason Mesnick, I already know how this episode will end.
- CSI: Miami (CBS, 10pm): “A flight attendant’s murder reveals dirty secrets of airline travel.” Note to self: Pack own pillow and blanket for next flight.

Monday Ratings: DWTS Has Best Premiere Yet
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, 24, Dancing With The Stars, Heroes, House, Medium, Ratings,
Jewel and Nancy O’Dell’s loss was Dancing with the Stars’ gain. Despite being in its 8th season, the program saw its largest premiere audience to date. (I think we can safely attribute that to the Melissa Rycroft factor.) The reality show’s return easily gave ABC wins in both the viewers and the demos last night.
8pm
- Dancing with the Stars (22.5 million, 5.9/15 in 18-49) had its second best premiere demo so far.
- House (12.1 million, 4.8/13) took a 2.5 million hit.
- The Big Bang Theory (9.5 million, 3.6/10) lost 1.4 million; How I Met Your Mother (8.5 million, 3.5/9) gave up 2.6 million.
- Chuck (5.7 million, 2.0/5) had its smallest audience ever.
- Gossip Girl* (1.2 million, 0.5/1) did about the same.

Monday Ratings: Heroes Can’t Rescue NBC
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, 24, Heroes, House, Medium, Ratings,
CBS’ repeat-filled lineup gave NBC a chance to pick up some ground yesterday. Unfortunately, the Peacock squandered its opportunity and sunk even further last night. FOX, in the meantime, seized the evening and placed first in both the viewers and the demos.
8pm
- House (14.6 million, 5.4/14 in 18-49) picked up 600,000.
- The Bachelor special (11 million, 3.7/9) was off 1.5 million from the last regular episode.
- The Big Bang Theory* (8.4 million, 2.7/7)* lost 400,000; How I Met Your Mother* (7.6 million, 2.8/7) grew by 300,000.
- Chuck (6.5 million, 2.2/6) had its smallest audience yet.
- Gossip Girl* (1.1 million, 0.4/1) did about the same.

Chuck‘s post-Super Bowl boost disappeared in just a matter of weeks. Back on February 2nd, the show had its largest audience of the season. Yesterday, the program hit a series low. The Bachelor, in the meantime, hit another season high last night.

- The Bachelor (12.5 million, 4.4/10) picked up 900,000.
- The Big Bang Theory* (3.0/8) turned in 8.8 million; How I Met Your Mother* (2.6/6) registered 7.3 million.
