Although Amne$ia debuted with good numbers last week, it didn’t have Drew Carey to contend with then. When put up against The Price is Right, the new program looked pale in comparison.
8pm
- The Price is Right (9.5 million, 2.2/7 in 18-49) earned 100,000 more viewers than last week.
- Bones* (6.4 million, 1.6/5) was off track by 600,000.
- Amne$ia (5.1 million, 1.4/5) lost 2.5 forgetful fans.
- Friday Night Smackdown (4.7 million, 1.4/5) was even with its last performance.
- Grey’s Anatomy (4.2 million, 1.2/4) was up slightly.

A special episode of The Price is Right did more for CBS last night than Dennis Miller’s AMNE$IA did for NBC.

Schedule Changes for Lost, How I Met Your Mother, House

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Action, Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, Grey’s Anatomy, House, Lost, Cancellations, Renewals,
In the past few days, more scheduling announcements have been made to mess with our heads. While all the changes have been reflected in our convenient Post-Strike Television Schedule, here are a few of the highlights.
- It’s been made official: Come April 24, Lost will move from 9pm to 10pm on Thursdays. This change will make room for the returns of Grey’s Anatomy and Ugly Betty in their old slots. (What this means for Eli Stone’s future is unclear.)
- When How I Met Your Mother returns on March 17th, it will be trading time slots with The Big Bang Theory. (Mother will air @ 8:30, Bang @ 8:00.) Meanwhile, the fate of the Neil Patrick Harris comedy beyond this season is still undecided.
- Monday night will eventually become a new home for Bones and House. Bones will begin airing new episodes on that day come April 14; Hugh Laurie and the gang will start anew on April 28 @ 9pm.
- Certain shows like Las Vegas, Bionic Woman, Big Shots and Life is Wild have not been not granted post-strike episodes because they are not being renewed. At all.
- Other programs like Heroes, Chuck, Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money and Private Practice won’t be seen again until next year.

Now that we have come to the end of the writers’ strike, it’s time to once again update our television programming schedules.

Here you can find a
compilation of the 2008 post-strike schedulesfor the five major networks. I would highly recommend printing this out since there are major changes across the board.

Tuesday Ratings: Viewers Would Rather Vote Than Watch

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Music, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, Specials, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, American Idol, House, Ratings,
Super Tuesday was less than stellar for those devoting airtime to it. All eyes were focused on that other contest unfolding on FOX.
8pm
- American Idol (27.8 million, 11.2/28 in 18-49) was only off 300,000 from last week.
- An NCIS* repeat (8.9 million, 1.8/4) also fared well on the news-filled evening.
- The Biggest Loser (8 million, 3.1/8) trimmed off 300,000.
- ABC‘s Super Tuesday coverage averaged 5.3 million (1.4/3) for the whole night.
- Reaper* (1.9 million, 0.7/2) had a repeat performance.

Sunday Ratings: Brady Loses in Front of Largest Crowd Ever

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, Specials, Sports, FOX, House, Ratings,
Although there were other things on last night that didn’t involve football, it’s really pointless to mention them this time around. So let’s just focus on the nuts and bolts of the New York Giants/New England Patriots match-up:
- Super Bowl XLII averaged 97.5 million viewers overall. This put the the contest ahead of the 1996 game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers (94.1 million).
- In addition to being the most-watched Super Bowl, the event came in 2nd for total television viewership ever. The M.A.S.H. finale still holds the top honor even after 25 years. (A whopping 105.9 million said goodbye to that series in 1983.)
- At its peak, the game drew in nearly 107 million viewers. (They were all tuning in to see if Tom Brady would cry.)
- As a result of it’s humongous lead-in, a post-game episode of House drew 29 million viewers. That was easily its largest audience ever.

This Week On TV (2/4-2/10)

(You can view the whole Revamped TV Programming Schedule here.)
MONDAY (2/4)
- Welcome to the Captain (CBS, 8:30): Series premiere. “A Hollywood wunderkind in a career slump is persuaded by his friend to move into his famous Tinseltown apartment building with an eclectic group of tenants.” Eclectic = show gone soon.
- Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (FOX, 9pm): “John discovers the figure may be bleaker than he imagined.” I’m confused. If he’s currently in 2007, he should have already seen what the future looks like in Rise of the Machines.
- The New Adventures of Old Christine (CBS, 9:30): Season Three premiere. “Christine gets overly nervous about sleeping with Mr. Harris (Blair Underwood) for the first time.” I think I already saw this episode…..on Sex and the City.
- Late Night With David Letterman (CBS, 11:30): Hillary Clinton sits down with the talk show host. Any woman who can make us forget Paris Hilton deserves to be President.

Despite a slate of original programs, NBC barely won the night in viewers. The network also ended up tying CBS in the demos.
8pm
- 1 vs. 100 (7.9 million, 2.0/6 in 18-46) was the evening’s most-watched.
- Ghost Whisperer* (1.8/6) scared up 7.3 million.
- Bones* (5.6 million, 1.5/5) was up by 200,000.
- Friday Night Smackdown (1.4/4) pinned down 4.6 million.
- Grey’s Anatomy (4.1 million, 1.1/4) rose a few notches.
