In last week’s episode, Turtle was waking up to a big day…this time, it was Drama. Nervous about his first day shooting the pilot, Johnny gets all dressed up. Unfortunately, his outward appearance does not mask the ball of nerves inside. When Turtle jokes to Drama about playing Vince’s ‘brother’ in the Ramones movies, Johnny lashes out at him. Worried that he will suffer a panic attack, the boys suggest ways that he can relax: either take some Xanax or ‘relieve’ himself before filming. Drama decides to go with neither.

Entourage: I Wanna Be Sedated

Turtle wakes up and preps for a big day. He and his client, rap artist Saigon, are about to seal the deal on a recording contract. On his way into the kitchen, he asks the boys for a second opinion on his outfit. The boys pretend to be clueless about Turtle’s meeting and wonder why he’s gotten all dressed up. Turtle is convinced that his friends have forgotten about the most important day of his life, but they finally give up the whole joke. Eric had his car waxed for the occasion and Drama even prepared him a special Pop Tart. Vinnie preps to give him his regular paycheck, but Turtle says that he may not need his money anymore. To cap the morning off, Drama offers his driving services to Turtle. Eric then sets off to see Ari and tells Vince that he should go with him. It’s been a week since they’ve last heard from him. Vince declines and decides to spend an unemployed day alone at the bookstore.

Although Vincent is still in need of a job, thanks to Turtle, he is not in need of any money. Vince has agreed to attend a Las Vegas club event in exchange for a quick $100,000. Although the boys all plan on joining Vinnie for the trip, Drama is not quick to sign up. Now that he’s in the process of shooting a pilot, he wants to takes things a bit more seriously. But when he is reminded that his favorite masseuse, Ken, works at the Hard Rock Hotel, Johnny decides to jump on board. He could use some hands of gold before he heads back to work.

Curb Your Enthusiasm Set for Sixth Season

I’ve been checking HBO’s website weekly to find out if Curb Your Enthusiasm will be back, but there hasn’t been any news—until now. The Hollywood Reporter announced that HBO will in fact be airing a sixth season of Curb. And no, the HBO site still doesn’t have any information about the new season. The series is expected to begin production in September, and all of the players will be returning again. Jeff Garlin, Cheryl Hines and Susie Essman (god, I love that woman!) will all be on board for the new season, expected to air in 2007. The last season of Curb premiered in September 2005, so we still have a long wait ahead for anything new. Chris Albrecht, chairman and CEO of HBO, just one month ago told reporters that Larry David was unsure about whether or not the show would do another season. With five Emmy nominations, including best comedy, it seemed certain that the show would be back for another term. Pretty, pretty good.

Vince and the boys are heading to the agency. Ari has another ‘surprise’ for Vince and has asked them to stop by. Drama uses the car ride as an opportunity to read aloud the pilot’s script. The audition Lloyd scored for Drama will give him an opportunity to work with Ed Burns. Given Drama’s history with Ed, he believes he will have a good chance of getting the part. Meanwhile, Lloyd has been swamped answering calls all day at the office. Word about Ari’s new building space has leaked and now their lines have been flooded with inquiries. Although Lloyd hate lyings, Ari insists that he continue to deny, deny, deny.

Mark Wahlberg Introduces New HBO Project

Mark Wahlberg has done great things for HBO, by bringing the mega-popular Entourage to the network as an executive producer. Wahlberg’s latest gig as executive producer is for a new half-hour drama titled In Treatment, also for HBO. The series is based on an Israeli series of the same name—a therapist who treats his patients calmly and professionally is actually a complete mess who has to seek therapy for himself. HBO has ordered five episodes, but has yet to commit to putting the series on the air. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the episodes will be presented as one long pilot. The pilot will be directed by Rodrigo Garcia (Six Feet Under, Big Love), so there’s definitely potential.

Already embarrassed by the outcome of his threesome, Eric faces more humiliation from the boys for snuggling a woman he wasn’t even allowed to sleep with. To make matters worse, Eric needs to face both ladies again sooner than he had hoped. Sloane is hosting a charity auction that evening and wants him to stop by for a second opinion. Hoping that he can bail early from a potentially awkward meeting, he recruits the boys to come with him.

Kim Cattrall’s Sexy Car Ad Pulled in New Zealand

Kim Cattrall oozed sex appeal as Samantha on Sex in the City, but apparently that sexiness doesn’t translate as well in New Zealand, where a Nissan ad filled with double entendres was pulled due to viewer complaints. The ad for the new Nissan Tiida features Cattrall as the same type of Samantha character from the HBO series. She oohs and ahhs while driving the car, saying such things as “More…more…more” and “Why didn’t you tell me it was so big? I just wasn’t prepared for it.” The spot has a voiceover that says “The all-new Nissan Tiida makes you feel really, really, really good inside.” The New Zealand Television Commercial Approvals Bureau did approve it, but Nissan decided to pull the ad when so many complaints were received. Says a company spokesperson, “We made this decision in the interest of self-regulation and in response to public feedback.” Interestingly enough, the same ad has been airing in Australia since February without incident.

The boys interrupt Drama from a day parked in front of a video game. Although he still hasn’t heard from Ari, his new supposed agent, he agrees to go out with the crew. Apparently the brothers are 0-for-2 when it comes to Ari calls. Vince hasn’t heard a peep since he told off Alan Gray, the President of Warner Bros.
During their night out, Eric runs into his girlfriend, Sloane. The guys are a bit weirded out that a girl has invaded their group, but Sloane swears their meeting was a mere coincidence. She is actually meeting up with a girlfriend from out of town. When Vince is later approached by a girl from his past, it is clear that the boys night out is now officially over. Ari takes his turn interrupting their evening when he calls Eric with ‘big’ news: Alan has agreed to bump up Vince’s paycheck to $10 million. Unfortunately, Eric and Vince are not impressed with the ‘liar’ and insist on holding out for the requested $20 million. Ari warns them not to get on Alan’s bad side…right before Eric hangs up. Vince is too busy going home with his lady friend to be fazed by Ari’s call, but Johnny is still feeling neglected. Thankfully, Drama’s mood is temporarily lifted when Sloane’s friend, Tori, finally arrives at their table.

Spike Lee and NBC Strike a Deal

Not too shabby, NBC – they managed to land Spike Lee to develop a new drama series. Discussion came shortly after Lee directed the pilot for the CBS drama Shark, starring James Woods. Lee is best known for his feature films, including “Do the Right Thing,” “Malcolm X,” and “Summer of Sam,” among others. It has not yet been confirmed if Lee will direct the new series, but he will develop and executive produce the project. His upcoming documentary, set to air on HBO in August, examines the government’s response to Hurricane Katrina. Titled When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts, this four-hour documentary will have its world premiere on August 16 at the New Orleans Arena.
