Britney Spears Demanded Equal Pay to Jennifer Lopez

Britney Spears demanded her X Factor pay deal was higher than Jennifer Lopez's earnings for American Idol.
The "Toxic" singer eventually agreed to a $15 million payment for one season of the US version of the Simon Cowell-fronted talent show, $3 million more than the "On The Floor" hitmaker gained for her first season on the rival program.
"Britney's bottom line was no less than $13 million," a source said. However it is also believed she initially asked for as much as $20 million, before eventually settling on the final sum.
The deal is said to have made bosses on American Idol particularly nervous as they think Jennifer now may up her demands for the show despite ratings falling in the last season.
It is believed X Factor bosses were so desperate to sign up Britney for the second season of the show they gave her permission to do whatever she wanted, which she did at her first taping of the show in Austin, Texas when she walked out during four auditions: "Simon Cowell is a smart and shrewd businessman who knew Britney could make his show and he was willing to give her just about anything to come on board - and he did."

Simon Cowell Blasts The Voice

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, Gossip,
Simon Cowell has taken a swipe at The Voice.
The TV mogul is currently judging hopeful singers for the second series of The X Factor in the US and told one contestant they would be better off auditioning for rival show The Voice - where the judges don't see what contestants look like before they pick them.
After the singer's audition, fellow panelist L.A. Reid told them, "If you decide to try out again, please do it on another show."
"Yes, the good news is I hear The Voice auditions are happening next week," Simon added.
This is not the first time Simon has blasted the rival show, having previously said he thought it would be better as a radio show: "That show [The Voice] puzzles me because it starts off and 'it's all about the voice.' So my first thought is: 'Why isn't this on radio?' because what's the point in looking at them. Then suddenly I'm watching it a week or two weeks ago and it's the same as The X Factor. They've got dancers behind them, graphics, lights. Same show. I see a lot of shows trying to rip us off. If you try and rip somebody off it always looks like a bad copy."

Britney Spears Feels Ready for ‘X Factor’

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, Gossip, Rumors,
Britney Spears feels she is ready to cope with the demands that will come with being a judge on The X Factor, according to reports.
The 30-year-old "Toxic" singer was confirmed for the panel last week and will appear alongside Demi Lovato, L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell; however, she has faced speculation that she may not be able to handle the role following the decision.
"Britney is well aware of what the critics are saying about her. She is anxious to prove to everyone that she isn't just a ditzy blonde and she is hunkered down with Jason, who will be with her at all times during the auditions and filming. Britney has been asking a lot of questions about the process and is seeking advice from Simon [Cowell] about how she can be the best judge possible. She is aware of the comments that Howard Stern made about her recently, saying the only reason people would be tuning in to watch her is because she is a trainwreck. She just doesn't care that he made those comments. Britney doesn't take that seriously and knows he is just promoting himself being on America's Got Talent. Britney is excited for the public to see a new side of her and is using the criticism to give her motivation to prove all the naysayers wrong," a source said.

Rod Stewart to Guest Judge ‘The X Factor’

Rod Stewart is due to guest judge on The X Factor (UK).
The 67-year-old rock star has been signed up to take part while Simon Cowell finds a replacement for Kelly Rowland. Auditions begin on Wednesday in Liverpool and the "I Don't Want To Talk About It" singer is expected to be on the panel for two show.
"Rod is a genuine living legend and exactly what the show needs. The details are still to be ironed out but it looks like he'll be at the auditions next month in London and possibly Glasgow because of his Scottish heritage. He's sold more than 100 million records worldwide so he knows exactly what it takes to succeed in the tough world of showbusiness, and hopefully he'll also be a big draw for viewers who might not have been fans of The X Factor before. It's a big coup to get him involved and Simon Cowell is absolutely thrilled," a source said.

Cory Monteith Happy with Glee Future

Cory Monteith thinks the next season of Glee will be "awesome."
The actor's character, Finn Hudson will graduate from the show's fictional McKinley high school at the end of the current third series, but creator Ryan Murphy has delighted the cast members with a plan for a "show within a show" that will see them continue their roles outside of the educational environment.
"When I told them all what the next season was, I think they all liked it because they all get to grow and be back to struggling. 'Where is my place in the world?' For the most part, I've had really good talks with all the actors, and what I want to do they have loved. Cory Monteith was like, 'I love that Finn gets to do that. That's awesome,'" Ryan said.
Despite speculation that a number of cast members, including Amber Riley and Dianna Agron - who play Mercedes Jones and Quinn Fabray respectively - will leave at the current season, Ryan insists they are all staying on for series four, but admitted they won't all be on screen for the full episode run.

Glee Plans Britney Spears Episode

Glee is making another Britney Spears-themed episode.
The hits of the new X Factor judge - who made a cameo appearance on the show in 2010, drawing a record number of viewers for the musical drama - will be used in the second episode of the fourth series of the program later this year, but the singer herself will not be in any scenes. Unlike Britney's first Glee tribute, the new episode will not
focus on her namesake in the show, EW.com reports.
Eight Britney tracks will be used in the episode, which will air in its new Thursday night slot - immediately after The X Factor results show.
Meanwhile, Glee actor Chris Colfer has revealed that Sarah Jessica Parker's recently-announced cameo on the show will see her play a mentor to his character Kurt Hummell: "I just found out last night that Sarah Jessica Parker is coming on our show to be my mentor of sorts."
Kate Hudson will make a six-episode appearance in a role that is described as very "dance heavy" and believed to be a mentor to Rachel Berry, the character played by Lea Michele.

Newly appointed X Factor judge Demi Lovato will be a good role model to the pop hopefuls.
The "Skyscraper" singer was confirmed to be joining the panel of the TV talent show along with Britney Spears on Monday taking their places alongside Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid.
Demi, 19, has openly battled and overcome depression, drug-use and bulimia and experts believe she "could potentially" be a positive influence on the young contestants. "Demi has been outspoken and inspiring to others about how you pick yourself up after you've been down. She may be very good, because she cares a lot. Let's hope that she uses that to be a fair and empathic judge. She could potentially be a good role model for others," clinical psychologist Vivian Diller, Ph.D., told Celebuzz.

Is Jennifer Lopez Leaving American Idol?

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip, Rumors,
Jennifer Lopez is reportedly leaving American Idol. The "On The Floor" singer is to step down from the judging panel of the talent show after two years because she is too busy with other commitments, it has been claimed.
"There is just too much going on for her right now," a source told US Weekly.
Jennifer- who will embark on a 20-date tour of North and Latin America this summer and is currently recording a new album - is "forever grateful" for her time on the show and is upset about leaving. "She regrets she can't stay on the show. It's been an incredible experience and she is forever grateful that she did it," the source added.
Despite the claims, American Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe has insisted Jennifer's departure is not definite and he would love for her to stay on the show. "We want her back. I want her back. I know how much she loves doing the show and how much she cares for the kids. [But] It's a business. She has to weigh everything. I know she's gotten lots of offers to do movies and other things," he said.

Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker are to appear in Glee.
The actresses will both appear in the forthcoming fourth season of the TV musical drama series, though details of their roles are being kept under wraps. However, broadcaster Fox have confirmed the former Sex and the City star will appear in at least one episode, while Kate's storyline arc will last for six episodes.
The network also vowed the show - which experienced a drop in ratings during the current season, which ends on May 22 - is "poised for a creative renaissance" when it returns in a new Thursday night slot later in the year. Fox's entertainment president Kevin Reilly explained the program will become a "show within a show" following some of the McKinley High graduates as they attend a New York performing arts school, as well as introducing "some new faces" at the main Ohio educational establishment.
