John Krasinski Owes Everything to ‘The Office’

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, NBC, The Office, Features,
The Office changed John Krasinski's life. The 33-year-old actor was a waiter before he landed the role of Jim Halpert on the NBC show and John - who is married to Emily Blunt - will always be grateful for what it did for him.
"To say this show gave me everything is the biggest understatement. I was a waiter before The Office so to me, this was a winning lottery ticket. Everything about my life has changed," he told Us Weekly.
John admits he is "emotional" about the end of the show, and while he doesn't want to say goodbye, is happy he and his cast mates have the opportunity to bring their storylines to a satisfactory conclusion: "I get so emotional to think that we're ending the show. But I'm unbelievably proud to be a part of one that actually gets to end. Instead of being asked to leave, I actually get a shot at bringing the whole story and all the characters to a close."

Arrested Development season 4 hits Netflix on May 26

Netflix is set to launch the new season of Arrested Development on May 26th, just three Sundays from now. Arrested Deelopment aired on Fox between 2003 and 2006, and was one of those shows plagued by low ratings, which later developed a massive following through DVD sales. Fans have been waiting for almost seven years for some sort of movie or series continuation (a la Family Guy and Futurama) since then, and now that time is upon us.
15 Episodes, May 26, only on Netflix. Try to contain yourself. #AD2013 twitter.com/arresteddev/st…

Netflix will release all 15 30-minute episodes of Arrested Development season 4 on May 26th, and they'll be a Netflix exclusive.

Kristen Wiig Returning to SNL

Kristen Wiig will return to Saturday Night Live as host.
The Bridesmaids actress - who spent seven seasons on the show before quitting last year - will host on May 11, with Vampire Weekend as musical guests. Kristen, hailed by showrunner Lorne Michaels as one of the top three or four cast members of all time, recently admitted she has felt lost since quitting SNL, explaining, "The show was seven years of my life and a six-day work week and you're constantly with your friends all day, all night. You sort of live and breathe the show. Then, when it's over, you kind of feel a little lost ... It was definitely an adjustment - even just the hours and [no longer] being in New York."
However, it is a busy for year Kristen, who stars in four movies this year, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Skeleton Twins, Imogene and Hateship, Friendship.
Meanwhile, Zach Galifianakis will host the May 4 SNL episode, while NBC has announced Ben Affleck will take charge for the season finale on May 18, with musical guest Kanye West.

Julie Bowen Envies Sofia Vergara

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Award Shows, Comedy, Prime Time, ABC, Features,
Julie Bowen is jealous of Sofia Vergara. The Modern Family actress is envious of her co-star's natural grace and femininity, and admits she feels like a tomboy next to the super confident and seductive Latina star.
"Sofia is just so comfortable with herself. She knows who she is and she has accepted it full. I've always felt like I've straddled this line between being a tomboy and I guess if you dress me up just right and put on the right bra I can sort of look girly, but I always feel like I'm playing dress up. Sofia's one of the first women I've spent a lot of time with who's just so female and so completely at ease with herself and the power that comes with that and the money she's made with it," she explained.
During awards season, the cast members all submit themselves for the Best Supporting Actor and Actress categories instead of Leading, and Julie confessed she was devastated when she won in 2012 and Sofia didn't. "When I won the Emmy the first year, I came over to her and was about to cry because I thought she should have it and she said, 'Now you listen to me, you do not apologise for this, this is yours, you take it. Next year its mine, but now it's yours.' I love that person," she said.

"Glee debuted as the first and only successful musical comedy series on television, and more than four years later, it continues to defy genres, break new ground and have a significant impact on popular culture. Week in and week out, Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan, Dante DiLoreto and the entire Glee team deliver a series that not only delights and surprises fans, but also inspires them to talk about, share, debate and engage with the show and I'm absolutely thrilled to have them on board for another two seasons," said Fox president Kevin Reilly.

Alec Baldwin Lands Talk Show

Alec Baldwin is being lined up to front a late-night talk show.
The 30 Rock actor - who is currently starring in a stage production of Orphans on New York's Broadway - is said to have had "conversations" with NBC about taking over the slot currently occupied by Carson Daly's Last Call after impressing network chiefs with his podcast series.
"People have been impressed with his radio podcast series and have thought about him for these opportunities," a source said.
Alec's podcast series with WNYC radio, called Here's The Thing, has seen him interview stars including David Letterman, Billy Joel, Kristen Wiig and Chris Rock away from the studio into locations such as his guest's apartment. If the proposed 30-minute TV show followed the same format, it would mean the 55-year-old actor could record several installments in one day, leaving his schedule open for his other commitments, the New York Daily News reports.

LeAnn Rimes to Star in Sitcom About Her Life

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Comedy, Gossip, Rumors,
LeAnn Rimes wants to star in a sitcom. The 30-year-old singer is reportedly shopping around a comedy series based on her real life and hopes to star in the show alongside her actor husband of two years Eddie Cibrian, 39.
"[They] have been shopping around a scripted comedy based on their lives together. They would play versions of themselves, kind of like on Curb Your Enthusiasm," a source said.
The insider also revealed that the couple plan to include a "crazy ex-wife" in the show that will be inspired by Eddie's ex-wife Brandi Glanville, 40, who has had numerous public spats with LeAnn.
But LeAnn and Eddie have decided not to feature his sons with Brandi, Mason, nine, and Jake, six, on the show. "Mason and Jake are not involved. If kids end up being on it, they would be played by actors -- not Eddie's children," the insider added.

‘Girls’ Star Quits After Clashing with Lena Dunham

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, HBO, Gossip, News, Renewals, Rumors,
Christopher Abbott has quit Girls after clashing with Lena Dunham. The actor - who played Charlie in the HBO show - has left after reportedly falling out with the creator as they began work on season three.
"They've just started work on season three, and Chris is at odds with Lena. He didn't like the direction things are going in, which seems a bit odd since the show put him on the map," a source told Page Six.
However, Christopher's representative insists he left Girls in order to focus on "other projects." The representative said, "[Chris] is grateful for the experience of collaborating with Lena, Judd [Apatow], and the entire Girls cast and crew, but right now he's working on numerous other projects and has decided not to return to the show."
Lena recently revealed she is excited about season three and wants to extend its run from 10 to 12 episodes. "We're starting season three at the end of March. I'm so excited. I would love that [to have 12 episodes instead of 10] I think that a little more would be just a little more storytelling real estate, and it would be amazing. But you know, so I shoot four-and-a-half months out of the year, then I'm editing, then I'm doing press, then I'm writing, then I'm back."
