On Gear Live: 2024 Nissan Z Nismo Review

Charlie SheenCharlie Sheen allegedly shut down production on Anger Management several times recently.

The 48-year-old actor, who parted ways with his manager, Mark Burg, entertainment lawyer, Jake Bloom, and publicist, Larry Solters, last week, was reportedly forced to miss work for two days and cut short filming this week because he developed laryngitis from partying too hard. "Filming with Charlie came to a halt last week for two days because he had come down with a nasty case of laryngitis. He was unable to talk at all last week, and has only worked half days this week because Charlie's voice isn't 100 percent. It has essentially shut down production because Charlie is in all of the scenes of the FX show," a source said.

Another insider insisted he developed the illness because he has been partying with his new girlfriend, Brett Rossi. "The reason he got laryngitis is simple. Charlie has been partying non-stop ever since Brett came onto the scene. There is a constant stream of cars coming and going from his Beverly Hills estate. It's the same pattern of behavior that led to the infamous 2011 meltdown," the insider revealed.

The Monty Python comedy troupeThe Monty Python gang want to work with South Park.

Terry Jones is reuniting with his old comedy collaborators John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Michael Palin and Eric Idle for the Monty Python Live (Mostly) show, and he claims the controversial American animation is the modern-day equivalent of their iconic British sketch show, Monty Python's Flying Circus.

"It's so successful and brilliant. It makes me laugh. We'd like to do something with them but I don't know yet because it's early days for the Python reunion. Besides, I'm just getting used to being in my 70s," the 71-year-old star told The Sun newspaper.

Terry credits South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker - who have admitted the show's style of animation is inspired by the paper cut-out cartoons made by Terry Gilliam for Monty Python's Flying Circus and have cited the group's work as a major inspiration - for making the Pythons' reunion happen in the first place: "They sparked it off when they said they'd like to do a show with us - they were big followers of Monty Python. That sowed the seed of the Python reunion," he explained.

Norman Reedus Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen of 'Portlandia'

"I love Portlandia! I would do that show, in a heartbeat. I would love that. You know when Saturday Night Live did a sketch of The Walking Dead, and Bill Hader played me? He invited me to the after-party, and Fred [Armisen] was there, and I was such a big fan, I just spent the entire time trying to hug Fred over and over and over again. I think he thought I was a complete weirdo. He might be scared of me now... I'm a hugger, too. But it was literally like seven hugs, and he was looking at me like, 'Again? You want to hug again?' I might have hugged him to death. But I love the feminist bookstore skit. I love that whole show. It's awesome."

The decision to sack the Anger Management star was made following comments broadcast during a radio interview, in which he referenced Chuck's real name Charles Levine, calling him "Chaim Levine," adding that he was a "stupid little man." Charlie also slammed a number of Warner Bros. executives before the show's network, CBS, suspended the final four episodes of the season and fired him. "I read that and I loved it and we'd gone through rehearsal and I could barely breathe in rehearsal and when we got to the show, I honestly thought that I would be fine. It seemed like if I take a breath first [it would be ok]…'and of course his mother,' and before the 'M' even came out of my mouth I'm like, 'I'm done. I'm just done.'"

Tina Fey Ellie Kemper

With a few of their veteran comedies now off the air, NBC needed some new TV blood for their line-up, so who best to ask for a new show than the creator of 30 Rock and one of the stars from The Office?

The network enlisted Tina Fey and her producing partner Robert Carlock for an upcoming show starring Ellie Kemper, which sees her as a woman living in New York City after having fled from a doomsday cult. Considering that the plot doesn't strike me as something that will be tickling my funny bone, it will be interesting to see Fey's spin on it.

Though the single-camera project is currently untitled, NBC has ordered 13 episodes to air next Fall.
