On Gear Live: 2024 Nissan Z Nismo Review

DescriptionTV star extraordinaire and Melrose Place vixen Heather Locklear is in final negotiations to star in the comedy Women of a Certain Age, about a woman who finds herself newly single. Locklear has appeared on some popular shows such as Scrubs and Boston Legal, but has not carried a show since the failed LAX.

How is it that TV has survived so long without a show with Heather Locklear? “LAX” didn’t go over so well, but ABC is banking on that being a fluke.  The Philadelphia Daily News says that the network is trying to entice the 43-year-old beauty to star in the new comedy “Women of a Certain Age.” Locklear would play a woman—of a certain age—embarking on her newly single life.

PsychEncouraged by the success of the series Monk, featuring a delightfully weird OCD detective, the USA network will soon premier a new ‘dramedy’ with a similar style. Psych will follow the adventures of a detective who, desperate for work, cons law enforcement into believing he has psychic powers. Sounds like a winner to us!

Like “Monk,” “Psych” features an unlikely detective. The series centers on Shawn Spencer (James Roday), an amateur sleuth who cons the police into believing he has psychic powers that help him solve crimes. With the reluctant assistance of his best friend (Dule Hill, of “The West Wing”), he has no choice but to get to work on complicated cases. Corbin Bernsen co-stars as Shawn’s police officer father.

“Psych,” written by Steve Franks, is tentatively slated to premiere July 7 in “Monk’s” 10 p.m. Friday slot.

Alyson Hannigan DatingJust in time for Valentine’s Day, How I Met Your Mother (and former Buffy the Vampire Slayer) star Alyson Hannigan reminisces about single life, and offers encouragement for those seeking true love. With her upcoming role in the spoof comedy Date Movie, and her state of married bliss to former Buffy co-star Alexis Denisof, Alyson seems qualified to give love advice.

“Date Movie” star Alyson Hannigan might be happily married, but she can still identify with the agony and uncertainty of being single.

“Until you find it, you’re always pining for the ‘Where’s my one? Where’s my one true love?’” muses Hannigan. “It was easy to know that feeling. You know, I didn’t meet [my husband] when I was born. I had some years without him, looking for him.”

“I did something unintentionally, but very smart. I dated somebody that was completely wrong for me before I started dating my husband,” says Hannigan. “So I think that [my parents] were so relieved that I wasn’t going to marry that [other] guy, they were like, ‘Awesome. You’re fantastic.’”

As a diehard romantic, Hannigan felt it was her duty to watch most of the films spoofed in “Date Movie.” One reference is to her personal favorite, “Say Anything,” and features Campbell mimicking John Cusack serenading his love by holding aloft a boom box. Thanks to her husband, Hannigan is no stranger to such romantic gestures.

In Justice, 9pm, NBC. We can’t decide what’s worse: the hokey title, or Kyle’s hideous haircut.

Obviously, a less than thrilling night for television, with all the repeats and the heralding in of tepid weekend entertainment. Unless you’re an Arrested Development fan, of course.

Andrea AndersEven Joey’s own stars are weary of the tepid comedy, which NBC is already considering for cancellation. Andrea Anders, who plays Joey’s neighbor on the NBC show, is not waiting for her walking papers. She has already ran over to a different network. She will star in the CBS comedy Class, which will follow the adventures of seven adults who reunite after years of separation following their childhood friendships. Class is already garnering decent buzz, which may mean Anders has made the right choice.

We can’t imagine a better host than the energetic, always appealing Jack Black. Really, it’s enough to make us want to tune in - especially after reading Jack’s plans:

Black told E! Online that he had “a lot of secret plans for when I host the awards, but I can tell you I’m going to bring the super-duper, freaky-deaky, ultra-clowny super dance! But that’s all I’ll say.”

Nickelodeon’s executive vice president of development and original programming, Marjorie Cohn, said Black was a natural fit for the show. “With Jack as host, the surprise factor is naturally elevated. Even we can hardly wait to see what will happen,” she said in a statement.
