Fans Help Greenlight ‘Veronica Mars’ Movie

Veronica Mars may have been cancelled six years ago, but fans are still just as ardent as ever to see a continuation of the UPN/CW series.
Series creator Rob Thomas took to the popular online fundraising site Kickstarter to generate interest and funds in seeing a big screen sequel to the show, which starred Kristen Bell as the title character.
"A two million dollar fundraising total probably means cross words are exchanged at the class reunion. Three million? We can afford a full-on brawl. Ten million? Who knows... For some reason the Neptune High class reunion takes place on a nuclear submarine! A Hobbit shows up! There’s a Bollywood end-credit dance number! I’ve always wanted to direct Bill Murray. We’ll figure out something cool. Hey, if that total goes high enough, I’ll bet the good folks at Warner Bros. will agree a sequel is a good idea," Thomas wrote on the project's Kickstarter page.
Miraculously, fans pulled through, raising over $2.8 million in less than 12 hours.

‘666 Park Avenue,’ ‘Last Resort’ Won’t Return for Second Seasons

ABC has pulled the plug on freshman dramas 666 Park Avenue and Last Resort. Despite 666's lead-in from hit show Revenge, neither newcomer could recover from their unimpressive debuts (Last Resort had an even trickier time doing so up against The Big Bang Theory and The X Factor). On the upside, the network will air all thirteen episodes for both shows as planned.
So far, ABC has only greenlit renewals for shows Nashville and The Neighbors.

Neil Patrick Harris Wants HIMYM to End

Neil Patrick Harris wants How I Met Your Mother to end after the current season.
The comedy returns this month for its eighth season and Neil - who plays Barney Stinson - says he and the rest of the cast are ready for the show to reach its conclusion.
"Our contracts end at [Season] eight, so it's one of those, you know, if they wanna do nine, they're welcome to, but we have a lot of other things [going on]. Cobie has got The Avengers that just made a billion dollars, Jason makes a ton of movies, I'm anxious to move East and Josh is directing and acting in movies as well. So, we all are anxious to move forward," said Neil, who stars alongside Cobie Smulders, Jason Segel, Josh Radnor and Alyson Hannigan.
Neil also admits the only reason any of the cast will sign up for another series is if it will be incredibly lucrative for them to do so: "I think the only way I think a season nine or any longer would happen would be [if it were] financially right - that's the reality of it. We love the show, we love doing it - eight years is a long time and we're as happy a family as we've ever been."

Eva Longoria Not Ready for TV Return

Eva Longoria isn't ready to return to TV.
The 37-year-old actress is busier than ever since her eight-year stint on Desperate Housewives came to an end and though she wants to go back to working on the small screen eventually, she is enjoying her break. "What I probably miss most about the show is the routine and the work. But I think I am busier now that the show is over. I would love to go back to TV. Not now, because I just got out after an eight-year relationship. So not in the immediate future, but in the long-run," she said.
Eva - who played Gabrielle Solis on the show - admits the final day of filming was "horrible" for herself and her co-stars, who include Felicity Huffman, Teri Hatcher and Marcia Cross. "The last day was horrible. We were all excited to move on and close this chapter. But it was a big part of all our lives. The final scene was really emotional. We just sat there and talked, cried and laughed about all the moments," she added to The Sun.

Jersey Shore has been axed. MTV confirmed the forthcoming sixth season of the reality TV show - which will premiere in October - will be its final season, but the network is to commemorate the end of the program with a one-hour special entitled "Gym, Tan, Look Back," on September 6. The episode will feature interviews with the Jersey Shore cast and a sneak peek of the sixth season, plus there will be a look back at some of the show's highlights since it began in December 2009.
The show has inspired a number of spin-offs including Geordie Shore - the English version of the program, which takes place in Newcastle, north east England - and Jersey Shore stars Snooki and Jenni "JWoww" Farley have gone on to create their own reality show, Snooki & JWoww.

Oprah Winfrey and Rosie O’Donnell Not Speaking?
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Daytime, Talk Shows, Cancellations, Gossip, News,
Oprah Winfrey and Rosie O'Donnell are reportedly not speaking to each other.
The chat show hosts have apparently fallen out over Oprah's decision to drop Rosie's talk show from her OWN network because of poor ratings. The problems are believed to have started when Oprah first called the comedienne to deliver the news.
"It was a very strained conversation, obviously. Oprah wanted to handle the announcement of the cancellation in a professional and dignified manner. Rosie thanked Oprah for the opportunity and ended the conversation very abruptly," a source said.

Ashton Kutcher Unsure About Two and a Half Men Future
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, CBS, Cancellations, Renewals,
Ashton Kutcher has ''no idea'' about the future of Two and a Half Men.
The 34-year-old actor joined the show as a replacement for Charlie Sheen last year, but admitted he hasn't been told yet if the program will be renewed for a tenth season or if he will even continue to play the role of broken-hearted internet billionaire Walden Schmidt.
"I don't think the show's been picked up for another season yet. I absolutely adore the time that I'm having. I'm having a great time on the show. There's some work I have during summer. I haven't heard from the powers that be yet."
Meanwhile, creator Chuck Lorre revealed Charlie is still a part of the show's "DNA" despite his acrimonious exit where he verbally blasted the showrunner.
"It's in our DNA. He's very much a part of our show, part of our lives. We've had wonderful years together and I'm not going to pretend they didn't happen," he said.
