Wednesday Ratings: Lost Suffers an Idol Blow

There’s nothing like an expanded Idol to give perfectly good shows a hard time. Yesterday’s two-hour Hollywood Week episode contributed to Lost‘s season-low numbers. The good news? The ABC program still had the best demos of any scripted program last night.
8pm
- American Idol (24.6 million, 9.4/23 in 18-49) had 1.7 million tune out.
- The New Adventures of Old Christine (1.9/5) rallied 7.1 million; Gary Unmarried (2.1/5) attracted 6.9 million.
- Knight Rider (5.4 million, 1.3/3) picked up 500,000.
- Lost* (4.4 million, 1.6/4) was down 400,000.
- Privileged* (1.1 million, 0.4/1) added on 900,000.

- Criminal Minds (13.3 million, 3.3/8 in 18-49) fell 600,000 from its last new episode.
- Lost (9.8 million, 4.4/10) gave up 1.2 million.
- Life (4.7 million, 1.4/3) was off by 2.1 million.
- 90210* (935,000, 0.4/1) did 165,000 less.
10pm
- CSI: NY (12.8 million, 3.4/9 in 18-49) easily won its hour.
- Law & Order (7.5 million, 2.1/6) shrunk by 1.2 million.
- Life on Mars (5.1 million, 1.9/5) slipped by 900,000.
