Tuesday Ratings: Biggest Loser Gains Viewers

Could this be the Oprah effect? Or was it simply a result of New Year’s Resolutions? Whatever the reason, NBC’s The Biggest Loser had a sizable debut. The show helped the Peacock network win in the demos while CBS’ normally strong Wednesday lineup had a victory with the viewers.
8pm
- NCIS (19.1 million, 3.7/10 in 18-49) had its second largest audience ever.
- The Biggest Loser (11.8 million, 4.5/11) had its biggest debut to date.
- The premiere of Homeland Security USA (2.3/6) attracted 7.8 million.
- House* (2.2/6) treated 5.6 million.
- 90210 (1.4/4) returned to 2.8 million.

- The Mentalist (19.6 million, 3.9/10 in 18-49) hit another season high.
- Scrubs’ ABC debut (6.7 million, 3.1/7) was up 25% from its NBC finale.
- Fringe* (1.4/3) chalked up 3.7 million.
- Privileged (0.8/2) turned in 1.7 million.
10pm
- Without a Trace (13.2 million, 2.7/7 in 18-49)) was down 1.5 million from its last original outing.
- Law & Order: SVU (10.7 million, 3.9/10) got help from a nice lead-in.
- Primetime: What Would You Do? (2.7/7) lured in 7 million.
