Sunday Ratings: Wins for Both NBC and CBS

A Jack Bauer-free night meant a return to normal for NBC and CBS. Last night, the Eye network - with help from a usually-strong 60 Minutes - was on top with the viewers. Meanwhile, sports programming helped NBC in the demos.
8pm
- Approximately 13.6 million watched the Minnesota Vikings beat the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football (5.3/12 in 18-49).
- The Amazing Race (11.6 million, 5.3/12) was up 1.5 million.
- Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (10.2 million, 3.6/8) nailed down 1 million more.
- The Simpsons (8 million, 3.5/8) fell by 500,000; King of the Hill (6.3 million, 2.8/6) was off by 700,000.
- CW‘s airing of The Crocodile Hunter (0.4/1) drew in 1.3 million.

- Desperate Housewives (15.6 million, 5.6/12 in 18-49) lost 1 million.
- Cold Case (10.6 million, 3.0/7) gave up 1.6 million.
- Family Guy* (6.9 million, 3.2/7) did 1.6 million less; American Dad (5.5 million, 2.5/5) slid by 1.3 million.
10pm
- Brothers & Sisters (10.2 million, 3.5/8 in 18-49) improved slightly.
- The Unit (9.9 milion, 2.8/7) did about the same.
