Warning: the following contains *spoiler* results for this week’s WWE Smackdown on The CW, airing Friday night at 8 p.m. ET.

The brands continue to blur this week on Smackdown (as they also did on ECW) when Jeff Hardy made the jump over to Friday night and defeated Finlay by disqualification. I hope SS puts the kibosh on a lot of these inter-brand matches - there’s only so many times I can watch any combo of matches between Finlay, The Hardys, Rey Rey, Mr. Kennedy and MVP.

Speaking of which, MVP and Matt Hardy (finally!) lost the WWE Tag Team Titles to none other than the equally unlikely team of ECW’s John Morrison and The Miz. The WWE can no longer say that a former Real World cast member has never held a title. It’s a sad day. MVP requested a rematch from the artist formerly known as Johnny Nitro and The Miz, which they granted and won … again. MVP responded by attacking Matt Hardy - how about signing a late U.S. Title match for SS, huh WWE?

Undertaker cut a promo - more of the same I’m sure. ’Taker can’t make anything work with such a dud of a subject like Batista. He needs a more formidable opponent /gimmick to face off with, such as a Mankind or Kane.

Rey Mysterio defeated Mr. Kennedy. Was probably a good match, but not anything that excites me. No feud or fire behind this match - simply circumstance surrounding their classic SS match. I would, however, rather watch this match than the Hardy/Finlay match.

For some reason, and I just don’t know why, I am kind of looking forward to seeing what they decide to do with the Hornswoggle vs. The Great Khali match at Survivor Series. More than anything, I’m interested to see if they’ll give these two very limited wrestlers a shot at trying to wrestle a match or whether they’ll plan some kind of run-in, DQ ending. I’d be really excited to see them come up with a creative way to have Horny legitimately win this match. This Friday, we have the official match weigh-in. Woggle came in at 138 (Really? That much?) while Khali just broke the scale and brought his little opponent to tears.

In the main event, “the next Ultimate Warrior” Batista defeated Mark Henry in what’s being reported as a squash. Apparently Batista roughed Henry up a little bit while all the sheep in the crowd (i.e. John Cena fans) went crazy over him. The End.

I’ll see you next week for Monday Night RAW - either one of the biggest nights in recent wrestling memory … or a huge disappointment. You can never rule out the possibility of disappointment when it comes to the WWE. Stay tuned!
