Watch out, Susan Boyle. Your (much) younger American match has just been found.

Tuesday night on America’s Got Talent, a small singing sensation wowed the judges with her large voice. That’s when Jackie Evancho, discovered through YouTube auditions, stunned the crowd with her rendition of “O Mio Babbino Caro.”

“I started singing when I was eight years old, because we went to see Phantom of the Opera, so I started singing songs around the house,” the 10-year-old from Philadelphia explained in her pre-taped bio.

Although critics understandably questioned the authenticity of her initial performance (her lips and voice don’t quite seem to match in the clip), Jackie was later given the opportunity to sing a cappella to prove her operatic talent. Evancho was also given a golden ticket to the semifinals during Wednesday’s broadcast.
