Tuesday Ratings: Idol Hits a New Low

Is American Idol starting to show its age? Or were viewers simply disinterested in the Kris/Adam battle? Whatever the reason, yesterday’s episode scored the lowest demos ever for a finale performance show.
8pm
- American Idol (23.1 million, 8.3/24 in 18-49) picked up 1.3 million since last week.
- NCIS (3.4/10) ended its season with 16.1 million.
- Dancing with the Stars (1.8/5) recapped 7.7 million.
- Most Outrageous Moments (0.9/3) drew 3 million to NBC.
- Reaper (1.8 million, 0.7/2) lost 200,000.

- Approximately 20.1 million saw Shawn Johnson with Dancing with the Stars (5.2/14 in 18-49).
- The Mentalist (16.8 million, 3.7/10) added on 700,000.
- The sneak preview of Glee (10.7 million, 4.3/11) was helped by an Idol overrun.
- Law & Order: SVU* (1.2/3) turned in 3.5 million.
- 90210 (1.0/3) wrapped up with 2.1 million.
10pm
- The series finale of Without a Trace (2.5/7) said goodbye to 11.3 million.
- Law & Order: SVU (2.4/7) settled for 6.7 million.
