Top 5 Super Bowl XLV Commercials
The 2011 Super Bowl was enjoyed by millions and hyped for many weeks on end -- and, it didn’t disappoint. The game was exciting (even if the cheerleaders were lacking), and FOX’s coverage was extremely thorough.
But let’s face it: the sports wasn’t the best part. Super Bowl XLV was jam-packed with advertising, and some spots managed to shine above the rest. We found videos for the top 5 commercials of the Super Bowl to make it easier to watch them again and again. You can, too, after the jump. . .
5. New website Homeaway.com managed to grab our attention with this funny ad. The “test baby” easily scores a touchdown as far as Super Bowl commercials go.
4. Carmax used nostalgia to high comedy in this great ad spot. The commercial gets extra points for the epic line: “I’m being carjacked!” and the sheer look of fear on the actor’s face.
3. CGI, a classic car design and kid-friendly insects? This commercial teasing the newest release of the Volkswagen Beetle makes us want to run right out an buy a car.
2. Even if you don’t like House, you’re sure to like a great commercial parody. This one’s got it all, even the super-funny ending.
1. The cast of Glee managed to bring us this year’s best commercial, a lengthy spot for the new Chevy Cruze. The classic Chevy jingle sounds fantastic thanks to Lea Michele, and though we barely recognized Chord Overstreet we’re willing to forgive any hair mistakes because the choreography was so awesome.
