TLC Sues Jon Gosselin
The divorce circus is going to have to add another ring to the drama soon - TLC just jumped into the fray. As if Jon and Kate Gosselin didn’t have enough troubles trying to sever the bonds between them and fending off the press, now Jon’s got to worry about a new lawsuit.
The network announced last month that it would be pulling Jon and Kate Plus 8 from its roster of shows, now featuring the Gosselins minus Jon in a new series dubbed Kate Plus 8. Upon hearing this, Jon Gosselin refused to give TLC admittance to taping sessions, called his lawyer and created quite the media ruckus.
Because of Gosselin’s actions, Kate Plus 8 is “suspended indefinitely.” Previously, the show was supposed to premiere on November 2. TLC’s lawsuit claims the network has lost $30,000 plus due to Jon’s behavior, contractual violations they obviously won’t take lying down.

However, rather oddly, is seems Jon Gosselin has not yet been served with paperwork on the subject. TLC evidently leaked the story to the press before they leaked it to Gosselin. His lawyer stated, “Neither Jon nor I have been served with legal pleading or informed by TLC of the instant litigation.” He also added that the network’s claims are “weak, feeble and baseless.” Yeah, yeah, yeah. Tell it to the jury.
“Discovery and TLC has treated Jon Gosselin like a dog by attempting to keep him on a leash and muzzle him and deny the father of eight the opportunity to earn a livelihood to support his family,” Gosselin’s legal representation wrote in a statement.
TLC complains that Gosselin has accepted payments and sold photography rights to several different media outlets, which evidently is against previous contractual agreements. Jon’s lawyer will argue that the contract is “unenforceable,” as neither Gosselin parent had legal representation upon the signing of the contract.
“When TLC and Discovery ended the program Jon and Kate Plus 8, they also effectively terminated the purported contract.”
Meanwhile, Kate Plus 8 may be put on hold, but it certainly isn’t canceled. The network is determined to continue doing something with the Gosselin mom and her brood.
Okay, so last week was the season premiere of "Jon & Kate Plus 8". I have been a peeping tom on this family for the last four seasons. After watching, I have different feelings. One of the things that made this show so entertaining in the past was the "loving" banter between the parents, Jon and Kate. When the show started, they were young parents, obviously hurting financially, trying to make a few bucks and document their children as they grew up. Now... oy... they are as dysfunctional as any other reality television family.
One of the bad show. i don't like this type of shows....
